I get the Dragon concept, I made sure to ask my artist if he was okay with a dragon but also explained I was looking for the yin/yang concept with a dragon and tiger. It turned out great and while he was not enthused about doing the dragon, he put it in his portfolio as it was the best dragon he did according to him 😃

I'm getting two tattoos redone one is faded and the other one getting fixed as not quite happy with it both of them are going be around $600ish which is not a bad price. I will never tell a tattoo artist to hurry up. Depends where you get the tattoo done on your body depends on how much it's gonna hurt. The arms hurt less than the love handles from my experience.

For me the only thing on here and my artist and myself usually talk quite a bit but I make up for it by being very still and easy to tattoo.

I can't even choose a single style of clothes to wear, or what hair colour I want, or what kind of make-up .... let alone choosing ONE style to permanently get tattooed onto my body! 😂 I currently have three pieces, one is in black & grey, the others are in colour, and they all have varying degrees of realism vs. illustrative, but they all still work together in a way, _because they are all chosen by me,_ and that creates a kind of red line running through it all 🖤🌿

I used to faint while getting vaccines and could not stand the sight of a needle....One tip: start with a very small, very quick tattoo, to try to control your feelings. I have my whole arm tattooed now.

Why tattooing "fake" dinosaurs? They never existed.

The only tattoo I have that I kind of dont like is I got "never again" after a horrible period in my life. I just didn't realize how many people were going to ask me about it after. Everyone says, "Never again what??" And I just hate having to explain it, sometimes to people I don't even know very well or know at all.

I realize this is an old video but saying a client shouldn't ask about price is silly. If a tatooist cannot or is unwilling to give a price estimate, that is a medium-large sized red flag. Any artist worth going to will give you an estimate because they've spent enough time tattooing clients to know roughly how long it will take to apply the tattoo once they know the size and specifications of the tattoo you want to get. If they really can't do that because of the details involved with the design, then ask their hourly rate. If they won't tell you their rate, run! Go find somebody else. There are plenty of competent and talented artists that have enough experience to be able to give an estimate for nearly any piece, and I would never get a tattoo from an artist that isn't able to do so. I have pieces that took an entire year to complete, sitting 2x/month--and the artist was able to give me a price quote at the end of a 15-min consultation, as well as their hourly rate.

Some of you are crooks and try to rob people especially now days. Takes 10 mins $150 please. plus tip me please. I can imagine 4 hours. Normaly it would be $100 but it's on your face so it's more. Why? Are you going to do it better on my face then you would on my arm? I'm completely covered in tattoos I mean completely but my head. Lucky I was in prison with a few professional tattoo artist. Got some in there that looked great and some after I got out from them. I will only deal with who I trust. I understand it's a job but you need to understand that it's not gold your drawing and getting paid nicely to do it. If you are a real artist drawing is so easy it's like talking if you are actuality a real artist. In the 90' when it wasn't really a thing they were super cheap and beautiful but now it's a trend and there's a 1000 shops in the city they all want to dollar and there shop is empty because there's to many shops and not enough people so they want you to make up for there slow day. and some of them suck and still want top dollar because in there mind they are amazing. So go to a few shops and just feel them out if they don't seem nice then never go back if they try to tell you o I need to do a whole sleeve to cover that 4" tattoo then yea no way. And onece you find a shop and artist that's not holding you at gunpoint for basically a street tattoo then I'd keep going back. Iv had the one guy tell me $200 and the artist say no just give me $150 or or hey I don't have that much if it's $350 and you have genuinely only have $320 if they don't want to do it then f them. It's all more then a profit especially when they just sitting there waiting 3 more hours till that dummy who is paying almost twice as much. Believe me they are not that busy all the time. I had one artist tell me I'd rather be making something then just sitting here. He always gave me a deal and great work and I was just over 18. Then I went to prison and basically went nuts. It's not always top notch but neither is the shops either because not all artist are good at everything if they suck at words they ant going to tell you that they will try to do it anyway. I got some one of a kind amazing tattoos inside because it's not about the money it was about the respect. Anyway do research before letting any tattoo artist touch you look at there work go to other shops especially if it's words a portrait or on your face. Because they should be and need to be done as perfectly as possible and some really don't care. It's not like back in the day were you had to know someone or put in years of work now days any idiot can be a tattoo artist

What protects customers getting ripped off on price or quality or upsell on aftercare. I followed all of this and eventually had my forearm lasered. Trying again, years later. Fingers crossed 🤞

So, I showed up for a tattoo on my forearm- prob a few sittings at least. I paid my deposit and took PTO from my job for the whole day.... the artist never showed up and called me 40 min after the appointment time to tell me he forgot what day it was :-/ I didn't have much confidence so, I asked if I could get my deposit back and he said no but, he could reschedule.... I didn't want to go to him after that so, I have't rescheduled or pushed for the deposit back. You think it was reasonable to get the deposit back? I really don't think he had drawn a design. I had never been in before for a consult....

there is a cultural reason for not publicly, proudly showing pictures of the lifeless body of the deceased. But in some stages of grief the parents are just insane and should not decide for any tattoo

the thing with tattoo artist at a party is something good if you are just doing pictures with markers or bodypaint andcif younare paid upfront. for real needlework it is a stupid thing
