I agree with the bumble bee tattoo. The bee is so cute but the flowers fall flat. I think sometimes clients don't know that it's ok to participate with the process. I always do. After the tattoo is healed then look at it with a painterly eye. Chances are it will need a few little touches with a single needle and that's part of the process.

Are most imperfections able to be resolved with some retouching. And, should you bring things to your artist's attention and if so, how soon after you get the tattoo.
