Great setup. What’s the brand of that cab?
@rollindirt4 жыл бұрын
I made the cab myself , my garage door height is only 73 inches, so i had no choice but to make my own , is a heated cab as it gets very windy and cold up here.

I never finished my Caterpillar. Maybe after I finish my flat build I will continue on it. Have the motors, batteries and some electronics already. It will be close to scale but not as detailed as this. I hope it weighs over 150lbs so I can rip the ground with the tiny ripper lol.

what motor are you using?
@rollindirt6 жыл бұрын
I used two gm windshield wiper motors, rated at 212 inch pounds of torque, kids power wheels battery. Good luck with your build. I just finish a cat d6 wide track soon to post that one.
@chrisjohnick6 жыл бұрын
cool man! how did you fit all those motors in 6.5" of body? I need 8" to fit my motors. or did you directly attach sprocket to wiper motor shaft?

Brian Russ if you're still looking RC4WD sells a very nice one for "cheap" which in the world of hydraulic RC $3750 is cheap. Actually... it's on sale I just bought one shipping included $3128.34 store.rc4wd.com/114-Scale-DXR2-Hydraulic-Earth-Dozer_p_4768.html it has to be a wire transfer from your bank no Credit Card or PayPal accepted though. The one you are looking at here is "priceless" with all the man hours involved. The RC4WD one is all metal beautifully detailed and 57 pounds. It's made in China by Eagle Machinery and I have not seen another like it mass produced. Most of the ones you see like this are homemade and like this guy spent countless hours building it.
I love watching rc dozer videos. What does 487 refer to, just something to call your dozer?

@rollindirt9 жыл бұрын
+Polski Ogorki , just saw your track system , good job! its the hardess part of the build for me,
@polskiogorki70199 жыл бұрын
I'm looking at building one also, blade width 15" wide 12.5" high and about 28 " long. Hull will be a bit wider (8") for more room for power and going with narrow pads for more ground pressure and pushing power. Aiming for the 100 pound mark. Will be a 10:1 based on a D8 rear and front end of a A575 Superdozer 15:1 but that will be more like a If I have to make heavier for more traction I'll melt some lead and put extra weight in various places.
@polskiogorki70199 жыл бұрын
10:1 ratio for a D8 would actually be 25.2" long.
@rollindirt9 жыл бұрын
Polski Ogorki at 100 pounds you'll have no problem pushing, what are you using for motors to drive the tracks, I'm building a d6 cat wide track now, about 3/4 done, hope to post soon. good luck with your build.

This is the best rc dozer I've seen, seems to have decent power, Love the U blade!

Seems like weight makes the traction. How heavy is yours? Would be interested to know in case I ever build one.
