Nice job, impressive! As an aside did you know that you can make a tank using double folded joints ? Regards, Jim the Brit

I couldn’t weld if my life depended on it probably not satisfactory anyway, but I do know enough about it that even though you didn’t show a close-up that looks pretty darn good for aluminum welding, which is very very very difficult - just FYI for anyone who doesn’t know much about welding.

You need to make a trip down to Florida and make some Airplane content with Cleetus McFarland at his new airport!! The Freedom Fox needs to go land at the Bald Eagle Airfield!!

That extra length of pipe is going to reduce your cruise speed by 1/2 mph and increase your take off roll by at least 7”. But I guess the new prop fixes that…😂 Great episode. Love the ingenuity.

That Flaperon is an ingenious idea! I cant believe that all GA aircraft don't have something similar to that system! Why have I never heard of this!😲

I'm shocked that you can even get insurance for that type of flying! It must be awful expensive!😲

I love the visibility on your plane. I moved to Florida from Colorado to learn to fly. I just learned about air density and thought it was ironic that Colorado probably has better flight conditions in the better half of the year.

I don;t get it. I put the duct tape on the cowl ... WELL in front of the mains of my M4 Maule ...and it STILL almost bit me. What the hell, Trent!? I don't land on many treadmills ... 😉🤣😜 Very well done, Sir. Carry on ... ^v^

I've found that the flapper-type oil pumps will reverse, but the flapper wheel itself only works thru a few reversals before the flaps start sheering off. Otherwise, they're very reliable.

Thats some good welding. I got an Ali tank built by a professional welder and it leaked all over the seams, got patched repeatedly! Anyway, any chance you could put down the parts list for that build? Pump and injector nozzle especially.

Nice landing lights… Kinda close to the leading edge at high AOA, isn’t it? Let’s test the smoke machine and see if we can direct smoke in front of the lights…. To see if they are working like speed brakes, disturbing lift about 2X the width of the lights themselves…. Placement of the oil input into the exhaust pipe matters… The closer to the exhaust valve, the hotter the EGT is… better for evaporating the oil. If you see a lot of oil all over the plane, and a weak smoke show…. Test the oil nozzle for its spray pattern… a finer spray may help… Dripping oil into the exhaust pipe where the EGT has cooled quite a bit may not be evaporating a lot of oil… Summary, to get smoke… small droplets and high EGTs where the oil is important… Safety note, a gear pump can build enough pressure to blow the hose off downstream…. 😃 😃

Doppler effect was cool, could you have made the tank from 032 or 040 to save a bit of weight?

6:40 you can always design it to key together instead of all the bends. Would be more welding but would be easier on you.

PUT THE GUARD BACK ON YOUR GRINDER!! As a journey welder of ten years I can honestly say that I have never needed to remove the guard. One little slip and that thing will remove your fingers. I don't know about a kitfox but I can't fly my 172 with no fingers. Anyway, your welds look fine. At least the ones you showed us 😂
