That was very clear and informative. Nice video :) Maybe getting off the horse can be easier where instead of keeping the left foot in it, we hold onto both hands and the stomach on the saddle to be able to remove the left foot and then let ourselves slide slowly to the ground. But maybe it's not how it is supposed to be done. I have no idea about Western horse riding and I am all the way from France :)

I am going for a vacation for 2 weeks and i haven't rode since age 10, 30 and 35 and now i'm terrified to do that because my woman wants to ride and i don't. I think i don't have it in me anymore. I think to me is best to connect with the horse when we arrive to the location. Greetings from Finland. Great video!

In many countries horses are just used for exploitation and are treated as slaves who may show signs of abuse, malnutrition and old scars. Please look out for these bullied gentle beings who may be silently suffering and Refuse to ride on them. God has mercy on those who show mercy on animals.

When dismounting, stepping out of the stirrup onto to the ground can be extremely dangerous - foot can get caught, horse can move etc. After bringing right leg over, lean over the saddle, release left foot from stirrup then, holding horn and back of saddle slide off the horse.

As an unfit, overweight, older rider I find that standing after dismount is difficult. After a couple hours in the saddle my hips just don’t want to go to the correct angle to stand and simply balancing is uncomfortable. Only takes a moment to stretch and regain balance - but it’s a bit like getting off a boat after a long voyage.

We are going on a family holiday from the UK to California to do some trail riding. The riding style is so different from what I'm used to! The reins are so slack and your stirrups are so long. I think I'm going to have to just relax in the saddle and leave my jodhpurs at home 😆 Thank you for the lovely video. It looks beautiful there x
