The renovation of the Arkana looks much better zhan the Captur. The car maintains its original identity, original appearance with minimal upgrades. The look is better than the original first version, while the design of the Captur has been completely destroyed.

better looking at back and front now with minor tweaks, upgraded interior slightly is a improvement , sadly the Renault UK dealerships seem have slight confusion when quoting the HP on the hybrid , quoting 140 ,142 and 145 , maybe renault france could provide the exact figure AFTER 3 YRS, LOL

Agree. Merc's are built to last. I did 180K in my 2011 C class and have done 70K to date in my 2018 E class. It still drives like new and nothing has gone wrong at all. No other manufacturer that I know of gives a 25 year paint warrantee either, although I'm not sure if that is still there with the new Merc's.

Having watched the full podcast there is nothing that we didn't already know about getting the "Best Deal" when buying a car. Maybe it would be better to get the views from someone who is not currently in the trade and is willing to give some real insight and tips. In saying that I liked the format and look forward to more.

Lovely review. The first one I have seen for the new E class with the trad. grill and it's great to have that option available in the UK once again with this new gen. I think it does look much better than the AMG line. It suits the sophisticated, classy styling of the car, and you avoid getting those awful fake exhausts. I do like a light interior but think the steering wheel should be black leather as it looks bit naff in that beige colour and will get dirty very quickly.

The equipment is less generous in the facelift series (entry models) compared to the previous series. The Techno version lack electronic parking brake, 17’ wheels, 9.3 screen, heated steering wheel and seats compared to the previous equivalent Intense version. Now you have to go for the rather expensive Alpine version to get all this (previously R.S). It’s a more greedy approach than before. Otherwise, the car is a gem to drive. Smooth with a surprisingly good torque.
@abderra18Ай бұрын
I recently purchased the 1.8L self-charging version of this car, and overall, it's been a positive experience. It's incredibly comfortable to drive, and after a month of use, I've been pleasantly surprised to average around 60 miles per gallon (UK). However, it's far from perfect. For starters, syncing trip data to the app requires you have to be stationary in park and click the privacy screen three times, otherwise, the trip data gets lost! The motor that drives the wipers are super noisy (as is the boot opening and closing), and the rear screen tends to fog up easily, which can be frustrating, especially considering there's no rear wiper. We've had so much rain in the UK lately, yes it does need a rear wiper! Visibility out of the rear is rather limited, and the reversing camera's in the design spec has poor resolution nothing better than my previous Juke (marginally better than a Nokia phone though). Another annoyance is the constant beeping - whether it's for going just a mile over the speed limit or changing speed zones, the alerts can get a bit excessive. The major crash alert has come on a couple of times, when there's no way I was going to crash - just driving normally during busy school runs. There's quite a few other minor annoyances. Sometimes randomly the alarm sounds for 5 seconds when locking the car. Every other drive it sends the app an alert to check the rear seats and if you turn off the alerts for those darn bleeps, it's reset the next time you start the car. When reversing, the screen does not always show the radar when approaching objects you could hit. There's many software bugs to fix in a car loaded with tech. The roads are so bad in the UK right now, occuasionally you have to drive more towards the middle of the road to avoid the potholes. However, the lane assist trys to nudge you back, but rather towards the right, not the left- almost like the correction software is written for Europe and not adapted to the UK! When a couple of passengers are in the rear, the 1.8L engine feels like it struggles and boy does it growl, like a Ferrari. Other than that the 1.8 engine is fine esp in busy town driving. If you're 6ft or over - you'll really struggle to fit in the back and the rear windows are really tiny. Specific to the design spec, the sounds system is disappointing (5/10) but updraging to the Excel or GR pushes towards and over £40K which is ridiclous for this car. In the UK Honda are offering 5 years breakdown, 5 years servicing, 5 years warrently included where as with Toyota you only get 1 years breakdown, 3 years manufactors warrenty. The 10 year extended warrenty is only free if you service from year 3 onwards at Toyota at a costs of currently £500 per service which is 2x as much as local garages charge. Bit of a scam especially given the 10 year warrently is not as comprehensive as the first 3!

Trouble is the EV platform is VW and despite the stated charging speed figures, it doesn’t deliver those! When you complain they say it’s only a range (albeit it never gets in to the range!). My experience was DC charging 20-80% is more like 50-55 minutes not 35. AC charging about 80% of the time was only half charging due to some battery safe mode that apparently randomly cuts the charge so on a cheap overnight 6hr charge I was getting 20kw not 40! Big difference. I had mine for 4 months, it then spent 6 weeks in garage and I got a BM i4 instead which is brilliant and does what it says!

As a multiple (and current) Renault owner, I have to say they have lost their minds with the current range by chopping their avaliable range and plugging this ugly child as the only alternative if you don't want an electric Megane. They have made zero effort to update it as a brand new, much nicer design is on the way, and no diesel on offer. I, and many others, will have to look elsewhere for their next car.
@orio_32 ай бұрын
Diesel is unfortunately going to be more and more restricted by governments so renault would just be wasting money if they kept making them, if its mileage you're worried about, the petrol hybrids don't have mileage too dissimilar to diesel alternatives
