Agree. Merc's are built to last. I did 180K in my 2011 C class and have done 70K to date in my 2018 E class. It still drives like new and nothing has gone wrong at all. No other manufacturer that I know of gives a 25 year paint warrantee either, although I'm not sure if that is still there with the new Merc's.

@@mrsteve7175 Could you tell me how reliable the C class is compared to the E class? Are they actually that much of a difference in quality? I've heard that the C class has not been really reliable but id like to hear your opinion. Thanks

@@Chr1sM8 Hi. So my C class was a 2009 C250D. I did 175K miles in it and it never broke down. The only things that needed replacing at around 160K miles were all the engine and gearbox mounts (cost me around £700) and also the rear light wiring looms at around the same time, although the dealer did them for free as it was a known fault apparently. So I never had to replace any shocks or anything else and the car still handled like new, although a few other things were showing signs of wear towards the end, such as the drivers seat and the steering wheel lock. The engine was perfect. I did look after it though and always got it serviced on time and at a dealer. In 2018 I swapped it for a 2018 E350e and have done around 80k in that so far. It's been faultless again, although it had a lot of recalls in the first year which was a bit inconvenient. Compared with the C class it just feels more luxurious. I didn't like the interior of the new C class at the time, which was a step down from my 2009 model in terms of quality, which is why I went for the E class. The only reason I had the hybrid over the more obvious 220d was for tax purposes at the time. I would have preferred the diesel, but actually I do like the hybrid because it's so quiet at low speeds and still does over 40mpg even if I don't charge the battery. It's very heavy though and you feel that in bends. The C class definitely handles better, although neither of them feel sporty, which is fine for me. Of the two I prefer the E class, but both are a big step up from the A class, which feels very cheap and both drive much better than their SUV variants. I would also say to avoid the 'AMG' versions as I've driven them and the ride quality is not as good, which becomes annoying if you spend a lot of time at the wheel, which I do. In the past there was little between the C class and E class but I think now the latest E class has gone much closer to the S class, so I'm looking forward to a test of that to see if it really is that much better than the one I have.

really nice video. The new e-class seems really luxurious and nice. Also the fuel consumption??! It's amazing.

Incredible car! honestly it looks like another S class rather than an E! I don't think BMW or Audi could rival the sheer class you get from this, ofcourse the big Mercedes star at the end is just the cherry on the cake! thanks for the review...

Hi. great video thank you. If we order the exclusive Premium plus on Nappa Neva grey would the Steering wheel be in Grey colour or black colour. this is for for the UK market. please advise. thanks a lot

Lovely review. The first one I have seen for the new E class with the trad. grill and it's great to have that option available in the UK once again with this new gen. I think it does look much better than the AMG line. It suits the sophisticated, classy styling of the car, and you avoid getting those awful fake exhausts. I do like a light interior but think the steering wheel should be black leather as it looks bit naff in that beige colour and will get dirty very quickly.

Thanks for watching! The beige interior is lovely in theory but doesn’t mix well with outdoor shoes 😀
