Bless you - I have been desperate for information regarding the Farmeri. My first orchid - I had no idea of its normal growth pattern of few leaves! ( that first year of orchid growing was rough). 😉 Thanks !

To remove keikis that are ready for repotting is to gently twist it around until it comes off. Then put cinnamon on the area/wound where the keikis were to avoid infection.

Hi Do you mist the keikis while on the mother plant????

I have 5 keikis on the mother plant and I mist the roots only, not the leaves.

No dont ever cut a healthy root. They need those resh tips to drunk....after you cut it won't drink until it grows side ones....they are not overgrown in fact most of us love the long vanda roots as much as flowers especially a nice fat main root not side off shoot roots....a short bushy root systemcwith dead stub ends is not nicer than long healthy roots. Tie them if you don't want long. Moss competes humidity and water and fertilizer ...but personally moss looks messy stringy half dead brown makes roots look awful half dead and destroys gorgeous look of vanda roots.

Hi! My baby box turtle only wants worms from my patio. I have tried fruits and vegetables and she does not want them, also tried canned food for turtles and she does no like that either. What can I do? Thanks

Hi, I live in Frankfort, Kentucky and my Lowe's "rarely" ever has any orchids for sale other than the typical phalaenopsis like you find at Kroger's. The one time I did see the bag babies I didn't think they looked very healthy, so I did not buy any.

No "Bag Babies" here in Memphis Only local Orchids are the occasional Dyed Blue Phal at Krogers.

The gecko appears to be a Mediterranean gecko which has been introduced seemingly everywhere. They eat moths and roaches and I doubt they are eating your blooms. I have them here in Florida and we have never had any issues with them. Iguanas on the other hand are a menace. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mediterranean_house_gecko

I have had better luck with bag babies from Home Depot than plants from a nursery. I think the nursery ones come from a growing environment better than mine. The bag babies are getting a better environment in my space having lived in a bag with minimal care. they appreciate the improvement. That's my take on it.

I just found your channel and I’ll try this! someone gave me a cutting of the yellow M. tenuifolia in February, and here it is June and it still has not rooted in sphagnum. I’m in Seattle and it’s a bit cool, so I will put it up into the south window where my other plant grows quite well, in water. Wish me luck!

I have an order coming to me tomorrow..I ordered four plants and they charged me 270.00 for the plants and shipping. That is what we pay in Canada for orchids.

Hey! Found what I believe to be a newborn box turtle and haven’t been able to get it to eat since I found him yesterday. Can you correct me if I’m wrong but you said the turtles won’t eat for a while after being born. If my understanding is correct, how long will it take for him to eat? I have worms, Rollie pollies, cut up carrots, tomatoes, and lettuce. Thank you so much

My only comment regarding Hausermann orchids is they don’t offer PayPal or any other way to pay besides sending them your credit card information. Therefore, I have never ordered from them. I would be disgusted with your dead roots plant for all the money you had to pay for it.

Aloha from Hawaii! Thank you for posting such an informative video! I was gifted my coconut orchid a year ago and it bloomed but there weren't as many buds as yours! Learned so much on your video! My orchid is very dark green with lots of growth, but it sounds like I'll need to expose it to more sunlight to get more buds! Looking forward to watching more of your videos! Thank you!
