Thanks so much, I only wished I could video all of what I saw. I was saving a lot of the memory on the camera for our pictures of adventures. I took a lot of pictures of the orchids to compromise. Can't wait to share them.

Thanks for sharing your way of dealing with unruly roots on your vandas. I can see the ups & downs of using moss around the roots and would have to agree with you about it depriving fertiliser from the vandas. It’s obvious to me that cutting the roots doesn’t seem to do them any harm, it certainly makes life a lot easier when you need to move them. I look forward to seeing your next video.

Great collection of Vandas, Kim. Lovely Roots too. I don't usually trim the roots except for the thin dried ones. I only have one Vanda with real long roots but they are still manageable. I still prefer them growing down to the ones growing to the sides so that they fit in my soaking Vanda bucket. I am not really fond of spanish moss around the roots except when I need to use it for making shade 😘😘😘

No moss for me. I do have two that grow twirled up in A pot and I leave some large bark in the bottom so I don't have to water every day. I soak in fertilizer water bucket.

No dont ever cut a healthy root. They need those resh tips to drunk....after you cut it won't drink until it grows side ones....they are not overgrown in fact most of us love the long vanda roots as much as flowers especially a nice fat main root not side off shoot roots....a short bushy root systemcwith dead stub ends is not nicer than long healthy roots. Tie them if you don't want long. Moss competes humidity and water and fertilizer ...but personally moss looks messy stringy half dead brown makes roots look awful half dead and destroys gorgeous look of vanda roots.
