I have a love hate relationship with Dodge. Your vehicle will either last 500,000+ miles, or something breaks every 2000 miles. There is no in between. I have two 98 Ram 1500's, one is my daily and one is my spare. My daily has nearly 600,000 miles and I have only had to do basic maintenance on it, the other one I inherited, and it's got less then 150,000 and it's got something new wrong with it every time I start it 🤣

It’s residual oil from your fingertips causes the excess heat and premature wear you can touch it if you want just clean it off after break clean works fine

You skipped the 1 thing I needed to know...How to remove the wire terminal. Seems to be the only thing you didn't show and is the biggest pita on this job lol

I have owned a DOHC ZC swapped 91 Rio Red DX Hatchback, a 96 Granada Black Pearl DX Hatchback, a 95 Frost White EX Coupe, and am currently driving a 98 Vogue Silver EX Coupe. I LOVE the Hatchbacks over the coupes, as they are just so damn practical, storage for DAYS. But 95% of all Civic hatchbacks, ef, eg, or ek, are just tattered and ran through at this point and the other clean, unmodified/tastefully modified 5% are being sold at triple or quadruple KBB value. Also finding any 3 pedal Civic runs into the same 95/5% issues. Which is why my current civic is an automatic. I still paid too much, but it wasn't modified at all, clean as clean can be. Have since rebuilt the suspension, every single bushing, bearing and ball joint has been replaced, disc swapped the rear and found a decent set of LS Meshies with plans to manual and motor swap it soon.

ZR2s don't have any of the clearance issues seen here for cylinder #3. Also this job can be done from up top, without taking off the wheels

Miss my 01 Durango, looking for another. Only thing I liked better was my 2012 JGC fuel economy compared to it.

That's a survival lighter. I don't know why smokers call it cigarette lighter. It isn't a lighter like a lighter It's a 12v port and most have a survival heater coil in it

The fuel tank, in my opinion, is the hardest job to do in that car, even worse than any heater core. The install is even worse, and god forbid you got rust in the tank, cause that job may require a long lecture, and likewise even the help of a professional at a radiator shop, that is, if you find one who will do that for you without stripping the sump and diffusers in the tank. The Evap lines and fuel return, to me, is one of the hardest issues with the install. One time I went across the country with my mark 1, same tank location and almost identical to the SW20. When I crossed into Mexico, no problemo, but on the way back, they were highly upset that they could not locate the fuel tank, in their 40 minute drug search endeavor.

3:54 - Did you say "churrokeys"? 😂 It's "chair o key," and that paeticular image was a Grand Chair-o-key. The churrokey never came with a V8.

Chrysler should check what they have their wire coating for their wire. Harnesses really made up if they find out what they're made of Then they can figure out what kind of Mess you'll have when you Check your wires. When I checked my Durango, the wires were chewed up like crazy so unless they just enjoyed chewing on wire coating. Or there's something that's in The Wire coating that they like. Maybe that could be changed.Maybe it already has been I don't know

I've always loved the 92-2000 Civics/Del Sol after having owned 2 plus a DC integra. The EX had the D16Z6 (92-95) or D16Y8 (96-2000). Straightforward, simple, reliable. Only issue is the camber and toe arm in the rear suspension but that's correctable. I'm 5'4. Note: from what I have read, theres a way to change the center console out for one from an EK.

These civic are the best daily driver cars. Finding a clean untouched one is super hard. They are simple and easy to fix. The Del Sol are nice.

How do you know how tight to make the belt after reattaching everything??
@secondhandspeed
@secondhandspeed 3 ай бұрын
The belt tensioner Is what puts pressure on the serpentine belt. You really don't have to worry about how tight the belts gets since its spring loaded inside. When the belt tensioner is going bad it will move a lot and make lots of noise.

So who honestly had the Durango 4.7 trouble free ? Anyone else claims the 4.7 magnum is garbage and transmissions are nightmares
@reddstool1023
@reddstool1023 Ай бұрын
4.7 is the worst engine. 5.2 is reliable but the 5.9 is what you want, very strong and reliable. Transmission is strong too, although it’s strange jeeps got the improved 5 speed while the Durango still had the 4 speed until production ended.
@kaw1240
@kaw1240 24 күн бұрын
@@reddstool1023 Not sure what you are talking about but I have the 4.7 and its a strong reliable motor and other people I know who had that motor before never had issues. The garbage motors were the hemis in the later gens.

Hey sorry I have a question so I have a 2000 dodge durango and I have this problem where it will idle right in gear but if I put it in gear it will die what will that be
@secondhandspeed
@secondhandspeed 3 ай бұрын
Does it idle fine when its in park or neutral? If it dies out when in Drive or Reverse then it could be an issue where a sensor is not giving it proper air of fuel when under load or the tranny is locking up.
