I have that gun its ,its cool its straight, i think its a good gun, mine is super reliable i bought it new in 1989 i love that pistol sig got the balance spot on, so it fells as soaft or soafter shooting then my dads colt 911 and it is a lot lighter , i love my dads 911 i think it prettier than my sig p220 and i like the trigger a little better than my sig but i like my trigger as well , over all i like my sig better , my sig is simpler to deal with than my dad 911 , the 911 being the king but id take my sig p220 because it the pistol that moves and handles like the king Elvis Presley!!!

Got mine two weeks ago same gun had it on order for three years and one month. it has frequent light, strikes both in single and double action. Sent it back to Taraus.we will see what happens….used 3 different brands of ammo all randomly worked.

That is a clean west German p228 i recently picked up a west German p220 and it feels amazing it’s not as clean as yours but it’s In fantastic shape 👍

I carry a Sig 229 or a 357mag revolver. Striker fired is fine for range day, but its still pointing a loaded gun cocked and unlocked at my testicles. I know Glock and M&P are safe but ill stick to hammers for carry. Enjoyed watching 👍👍

I just sent my West German Sig P 228 back to Trijicon to have the lamps in my night sights replaced with all green new lamps. I keep this gun at arms reach always close at hand or when carrying it here in Florida.

I have the Ultra Lite in 22lr but it is called the Ultra Lite Nine. There is no model number on the gun. It is very lite and I carry it all the time. I know it can do a good job as a concealed carry gun with the mini mags in it, and with 9 rounds It has plenty of ammo.

I would like to see Taurus make this gun hammerless. And yes I have contacted Taurus about the hammerless idea.

I have my German P228 since 1999. Carried it on duty and qualified at the range anually. The gun NEVER jammed or malfunctioned. I only replaced the coil spring about 5 years ago with a new Sig Sauer original replacement spring. I'm retired now. Still carry it all day every day. Best gun ever. I'll never get rid of it.

A small reliability in a Revolver with excellent accuracy in both short to medium ranges without any recoil that has a low price and ammo is plentiful to buy in all of American gun stores that means Taurus 942 revolver is a weapon every American should own in their secured weapon lockers at home.

You stole that pistol! You can’t even find that pistol now! The plain 942m is going for $600 all day on Gunbroker. Good luck finding another ultra light version. You could probably double your money on that right now. I gave up trying to find it and ended up picking up the Smith and Wesson 22mag Air Light PD that weighs only 12 ounces empty. I paid almost $800 for that one -ouch!

Couldn't find a 942. I did run into a 941 in a little shop and while it was used, it was not used very much. Primary difference is the rear sight. One allows for elevation and windage the other, just elevation. This is a gun with a 2" barrel. If you're in a tight situation, the elevation and windage are secondary. Most of what you're shooting at is within 15 yards. Don't dry fire the weapon. It will cause damage and there are capped devices on the market that allows you to dry fire if you desire to? Nice little machine that I picked up for under 300.00. The bluing looks like it came out of the box and when I cleaned it, there was still some packing grease left in some areas. Times are not real good right now. Some people need money and part with nice weapons. Stop and look.

the west german ones had better quality, all the components were forged, even the aluminum frame. The slide on the west german models, although stamped steel, that sheet metal was also forged. The newer models are made from a solid piece of billet steel (not forged). If Sig Sauer were to made the "classic 226, 225, 228" in todays time, it would be VERY VERY VERY expensive. More expensive than the newer models to produce.

I was so fortunate to find a 342 air light TI..38+p used in excellent condition at my local gun shop for 500 bucks..11 oz 👍 but instead of the bantam grips.. I install full size rubber hogue monogrips.. covers the back strap and cushions my hand from recoil.. gets all my fingers on the grip for maximum control.. yeah I can still easily carry it in my right front jeans pocket in a DeSantis Superfly pocket holster.. for self-defense I carry Federal HST + p38 130 grain.. Federal achieves plus p velocity and pressure by seating the huge hollow point deep in the case flush with the case mouth like a wad cutter.. the result is penetration 13 in denim covered ballistic gel full expansion and The recoil is like a light 22 magnum recoil in my 11 oz 342.. these are some of the lightest recoiling 38 I've ever fired

Just got a used P220 found at a Pawn shop--- after research and little help from Sig Sauer aficionados on social media, mine is according to serial 1997 made. Just has Made in Germany on the slide, the serial # that starts with G. No other proof marks, dates or numbers. Light modest wear on the slide. Still very nice condition--- I snagged it for 600! Couldnt pass it up. After seeing what some are going for on Gunbroker. Think I got it for a steal!
