I've owned a pair of XT 8F for 7 years now and love the sound quality, especially from acoustic stringed instruments like piano and guitar. No complaints whatsoever.

I used to work in tannoy, those big speakers most went to China. I think four or £5,000. That was back in the 90s.

Contrary to Dr Mills saying that acoustic damping material is not an option, the lower chamber of the XT8F contains acoustic damping material which also obstructs the bass port.

Why don't we see induction coils made from silver or silver plated wire there should be is a lot better you should try it, and the second winding of the transformer should be silver not something I see generally. The cost is not great about 20% to me, so to a accompanying it should be minuscule. and why don't you see more on voice calls as well do you do any voice calls with silver plaited windy mainly on the woofer driver more? Make the waveguide Open extended out through the magnet a Venturi tube going all the threw out of the back of the cabinet . alright received on Venturi waveguide horn loaded speakers. If you want to try it out you're welcome to maybe we can put it in production.

Tannoy Dual concentric give me the horn. PLEASE how do I get a pair. I can only dream of such eargasmic sound, whilst slumming it here with my nice little Tannoy mercury m2's.

Mylar surround on the compression driver diaphragm, sounds like Tannoy is catching up to the old Altec Symbiotic, the Emilar and the current Radian

I do believe that Tannoy should access their quality control out of the Chinese factory as one of my XT speakers has an incline greater than the other

Good job I like the sound so much... I've had lots of issues with poor build quality, the replacement set of my XT8's are better but I hate the ugly scratches on one of the driver trims

why don't you make them all active? and is there a active crossover kit that could be put in place say from the 802 can this be adapted for the floor standing? I've always thought the bullet nose whatever it's called in front of the tweeter diaphragm why is it pointed and not flat at the end, say half a centimetre concave I find works on a soft Dome tweeter

Put those bloody grilles back on. If wanting to sell these loudspeakers, the lady of the house does not want to see drive units! When will marketing men stop being obsessed with engineering and start thinking about the homes they're going into. I get it about the sound quality improving, but not a single image shows any model here full on with a speaker grille in-place, so no-one watching this sees anything other than naked round drive units; sexy to a hi-fi obsessed man, ugly to nearly all women..

I would love to here how they play reggae. Bass, how low do they go? Anyone got these in Devon area for a listen to.

I didn't think I'll hear the speakers in this video, but at least I thought I would see how they look. This is not a good video to promote what seems like a really good product.
