tannoy is incredible. i dont like the astetics of these Prestige but they sure are apart from anything else.. if i was living in mansion or a castle and had a bentley at my door maybe i hould consider them. lol. but the sound signature of any tannoy speaker is really impressive. pure cristal clarity

Noberto Castro "Royalty is not created, it is born into..." What kind of English crap is this? Royalty was 'created' when some ancient tribal warlord enforced his will onto a populace with armies...the handing down of power thru a namesake. Go right ahead & have your drafty cold castle with your gas-sucking Bentley...The Tannoy speakers were NOT the first loudspeakers created, the USA had several loudspeaker lines derived from pre-war sound systems in movie theaters, well before Tannoy. All the intricate wood carvings won't make the Tannoys sound any better than any common Chinese built systems. Sorry, but the world of Hi-Fi has long since dropped the concentric driver approach.

That's only your view, plus a few recording studios who want more boom-tizz EQ for processed pap. In the serious hi-fi community, they really still cut it. But I agree about the corny narrative here. Scripted no-doubt for Eastern markets. I never cease to cringe at how ignorant marketing is with rubbish scripts like this. By the way, Tannoy made huge 200-watt sound systems for circuses going back to the beginning of the 1930's, so a little louder than even a 5,000-seat American size 1930's picture palace (usually 30-watt push-pull with 105db efficient horns) so not as young nor irrelevant as you cite.

The grilles should be on if wanting to win the attention of interiors minded people. Audio enthusiasts may want to listen with them removed, but aesthetically, as beautiful as they look, the grilles should be in place for this promotional film. Also, the voice-over is all wrong. Too cut-price Hollywood film style. Nigel Havers would be your man for the job.

Put those bloody grilles back on. If wanting to sell these loudspeakers, the lady of the house does not want to see drive units! When will marketing men stop being obsessed with engineering and start thinking about the homes they're going into. I get it about the sound quality improving, but not a single image shows any model here full on with a speaker grille in-place, so no-one watching this sees anything other than naked round drive units; sexy to a hi-fi obsessed man, ugly to nearly all women..

be that as it may.. and you just have to negotiate to make it happen :-D

If you can afford a house big enough to house a pair of 138 Kg speakers, you can probably afford an orangery for the lady to powder her nose in whilst you revel in naked speaker glory with the boys as you quaff Chateau neuf', raid the cigar cellar and marvel at the assorted endangered animal heads on the wall.

True! That's not James Bell, my one time colleague from Peter Jones, Chelsea and now wine merchant by any chance?

IDK perhaps the high end hifi company is marketing towards hifi obsessed men and not ladies? Ever think of that?.

Also why do you think women are the only ones who give a shit about how things look?
