I go back and watch my old Tuba Skinny videos occasionally and the band still amazes me. I have heard them perform multiple dozens of times over the past 10 years and they still bring a smile to my face when I hear something like this. Absolutely, without a doubt, I will accept no argument, they are the best traditional jazz band in the world.

I found about Tuba Skinny by chance this morning, then started to watch their Awesome Videos and in 15 minutes I was already talking with my wife to plan a Vacation to N.O. to see this things live, and then, #@$*%(+&+$, this Video shows up. The Police Officer was just following Ordinances and Laws, and he was firm but never disrespectful, BUT WHATS WRONG WITH THE CITY THAT DOES NOT PROTECT THE VERY THING THAT MAKE IT ATRACTIVE TO VISITORS ?, THEIR CULTURAL HERITAGE IN ALL FORMS !!! Were Im from, the City has to pay Musicians to play in the Streets, and this Magnificent and Real Band is kicked around ???????? I betcha there are a couple of sorry unhappy Bussiness Owners who push this stupid Laws into action, and at the same time Visitors, I changed my mind on going to N.O., without Tuba Skinny and the like, the City must be veeeeeeryyy boring !!!! Mayor, if you change the Law, to Protect the very Heart and Soul of N.O. Cultural Heritage, let me know here, I will then visit your City….

The city changed their policy a month after this video was released in April, 2022. The bands have been allowed to play on Royal Street again since then. Go ahead and plan your trip but I suggest checking Tuba Skinny's touring schedule to make sure they are not out of town when you are there. They usually go on tour every summer. They are currently in N.Y. and Maine. tubaskinny.com/schedule

Post FQF they were playing regularly at the d.b.a. but I was unable to make it back to see them. If they return this Fall I shall make an effort to see them again. They are impressive.
