Do you know the dimensions of this unit offhand?

HPS lights are great. I was going for a late walk a few months ago, and just had to stop and admire the warm glow of it and how much light it was putting off.

I had that exact fan in my bedroom while I was growing up. I would’ve still had it, but my mother threw it out unfortunately. Side note: I had one of those Walmart ones a while ago, and it sucked. It only lasted 3 years, even with constant maintenance. I wish they still made fans like these old ones.

Just curious why don't you use bulbs the correct size? I've heard those adapters aren't very good for HID fixtures but I could be wrong.

Nice Video of the Day Jordan. Like seeing the box fans getting some use around the house with the nice weather. Also nice Hostas. Planted a couple new ones our self after the winter decided to take out a couple of ours. I believe one of them that we planted was a london fog hosta. I don't blame you about the screeching owls, those things would drive a person nuts after a while. Looks forward to seeing more of these types of videos in the future.

In my house I first have to open windows in attic and then down in the main house then turn on the fan switch. I use to have a speed control but when I called electrician he said the fan switch burned out because the motor is to powerful for the switch. So he ended up putting a on off switch that can handle the load.

Hello I have the same one this year when I went up to attic to install into it’s square and turned it on when I got down to room I hear like a low rattle like if the fan belt is loose. Not sure but i believe it’s original to the home a 1950 one level home. Have you had such a noise?

Myself, I'm not a fan of the sodium lights, but i do remember them from my childhood. I really like the mercury vapor lights. There is just something about the glow. I dont like a really bright light. The clear mercury vapor bulbs just puts off a very gentle white/blue/green light. It's not as bright and harsh as an LED or sodium. Just lights up the area enough to see what you are doing. A lot of people refer to it as "moon glow" because in ways, it is like the light you get from a full moon. Very pleasant and calming light. I tried to explain it lol but the only way you could really understand is to experience it in person for yourself.

These box fans I remembered from childhood, but mostly with little motors and then the ones with blue plugs.

You should have been able to unscrew that top part allowing you to disassemble the diode and the reflector from the lens and sleeve. Unless it's corroded shut. (You may have said that, I have may have missed it)

Iv had pretty good luck with these 90s Marco motors. The metal ones in these date back to about 1989 or 1990. There was a few that had the metal and a few that had the plastic motors as Lasko was kinda phasing them out at that point.

A remote controlled Vornado or Lasko Flexor should do the trick.
