I plan to get A7RV with Tamron 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 (crop 2X to 800mm), should I pair it with a Sony 14mm F1.8 (crop to 28mm F3.6 DOF) or 12-24mm F4 as ultrawide and everyday lens if I use them mainly for photo and for video mainly with Panasonic HC-X1500 25-600mm camcorder? I was deciding between these and Loawa 10-18, Sigma 14-24 F2.8, Sony 16-35 F4 PZ, Tamron 17-50 F4 and Sony 20 F1.8 but I think >=30mm can covered with few steps back on the tele Lena's 50mm, F2.8 is just slight better than F4 hence better get faster lens if I really need that, 17&16mm aren't wide enough for indoor, this is why I reduced to these 2 options, but will Sony update the 12-24mm F4 soon? The Power Zoom is tempting but is it essential or any of these even the fix lens can do dolly zoom just fine? And can I set profile for each lens so the pic&vid took by the golden look Tamron lenses and cooler look Sony lenses will look consistent? 14mm is better with the A7RV's cropped 4K60 with active stabilisation?

I am debating to get the A73 or the A7R3. I mainly want to shoot wedding and I saw that A73 performs better in low light due to higher ISO. What do you think? Is the difference noticeable in low light for A7R3?

What about 20mm f1.8? Will the 12-24mm f4 work well inside hotels or church in low light? I could not find any good videos on it.

Thank you for the very informative video. Luckily I never feel like I have to push the files too much as it gives it a fake feel to my pictures. Happy with my m2p but still inspired by the inspire. I know tat was bad.

Very clever hack (and gorgeous photos!). A cautionary note: the highly convex front element protrudes beyond the built-in lens hood's corners around 14mm focal length; going any wider and the lens is beyond this recess. Therefore the backside of the filter hack should sit at least 2mm above these corners to avoid collision.

This is one of the best review for us photographers (specially landscape photographers). There are a lot of video comparing Mavic 2 Pro to the Phantom 4 Pro but more on videography/film making.. Thanks for this!

Hey Dan, great video. I ended up buying the Nikon Z7 and the Z series 14-30mm wide zoom which is amazing - very small, light, and it takes screw on filters (82mm) with no vignetting at 14mm. I love it!

Nice review, thank you Dan! I am wondering whether P4P have more noticeable noise than MP2 or even MP? I am doing HDRs using AEB (auto bracketing mode) of 5 DNG pics. I am having pretty noticeable noise even at ISO 100 and shutter 1/60, EV 0 (using Polarpro ND16/PL polarized filter), manual mode. Anyone else have this problem?

Killer hack for this lens! Massive price point aside of the Nisi filter system for the 12-24, it's still huge and bulky.

Thanks for an informative review. As a landscape photographer I have had a P4P for about 2 years and was hoping that the Mavic 2P would be equal, but in a smaller size. After looking at a ton of reviews, I think you are spot on. I may still get one for travel purposes, but I know that the quality will be slightly less, and that will bother me. Maybe better to wait for another 12 months and look for a P5 or a M3. However, my prediction is that the P4 form factor is dead and that The Mavic form will evolve. People like portability. BTW, your last comment was 11 months ago. Has anything changed?

I would say hands down, yes go with he A7R III but if you do any serious astro landscape photography, A7 III is much better. I guess both would be the best option if you've got the cash haha
