Pro tip: if you have a battery like this guy has, do not use painters take or masking tape because it can cause fires, if you do have a bttery, use electrical tape. 3:34. Dont use painters or masking tape.

I did the same mods so do you think I should just unplug the battery and keep the tape? Bc I won’t be using Bluetooth on the keyboard.

@@ILFISNG i mean, there is a potention risk of the battery still cathing on fire IF the battery is still in there. even when not used. for better, take the battery out if you want.

I have the same keyboard. I like your creativity, so not saying this outta tryna be rude, but so that other watchers aren't deterred by buying this good entry-level budget MKB - a lot of the reason for the difference in sound is just because you got rid of extra loud clacky blue switches and replaced them w far better ones and the improved thinner than stock keycaps On my RK61 I just replaced switches and caps and achieved a similar sounding nice soft thock and typing feel, and the board didn't have to be raised either. Just for users/watchers to know - you can get some great sound and feel out of the RK61 without this much work being put in 😂

I modded my rk61 very similar to this video. I taped down some pennies, put a layer of bottom case foam, and I did the o ring mod. I also tape modded it. I used the stock keycaps (bc I want a sleeper build) and I changed the switches for some lubed ones. Overall my board is a little less deep sounding than the video, but the feel and bounce of the board is very nice.
