@@Epicmilkman-nn3ii Whenever I get enough footage for the next one. Life got a bit busy, I haven't been by the layout as much- when I do, things tended to behave and provided no new clips. Gotta be able to fill out a normal video length for it to be worth it!

Why do you need 6 loop files as oppose to one?

@PetersTrainz The decoder picks up the loop at various points- depending on pace and intensity of horn taps. One loop would play the entire horn sequence instead of allowing a shorter or mid length sound. So if you have 5 seconds of a steam whistle, it would jump from the init to the full sequence, instead of allowing you a short blast.

@PetersTrainz Nope! Sound and regular decoder data can be written with the chip installed in the locomotive. You can remove them and do the work on the ESU decoder tester, otherwise it'll work fine.

A cool model of an unusual locomotive, probably the most unusual Diesel Locomotives of the Southern Pacific Railroad. Along with the Krauss-Maffei ML 4000 Locomotives, in which I know one of them is preserved at the Niles Canyon Railway in Sunol, California. And the only one of those German Built Diesels preserved.

Man, these locomotives look interesting and sound great! SP seems to like making odd choices with its locomotives, this and the cab forwards are proof of it. The cab interior is especially stunning. I was not expecting there to be control gauge lighting! Do you plan to put some crewmen in there?

The blades freely spin, but they are not motorized...yet. The manual hints at an aux allocation for eventual motorization.

I really hope that these stack fire details become present on stock locomotives. It’s a really cool touch and I think that if manufacturers started putting these on their locomotives, it would definitely increase the quality of their products.
