I have one of these missile cars, you have oil and grease the gears and it will work better, The tip of the lunching rod that keeps the spring and washer aways brakes off from the spring hitting it and the age of the plastic, There's also a track trip to lunch the missile when the train is moving, Have fun with it Thanks

@Drivinginohio Will be a bit, there aren't enough clips on hand to fill out a video currently.

You planning on getting those horn/whistle equipped ho Lionel steam/diesels from the mid 60s? That’d be sweet to see in action

@pennsy6755 At the moment no, but if one turns up for the right price I may check it out.

@ good luck on the hunt! And don’t forget those horn controllers. Only thing I’d look out for is battery acid damage cause IIRC, those destroy the horn mechanism in question.

I bought a Lionel exploding boxcar that's supposed to go with this at a train show this year. Not easy to keep it together.

@bowlinerailfan Grabbing it by the car ends is the easiest way to move, I've got 2 and they can be a bit tricky putting on track/re-railing if the lever is engaged.
