Favorite Movie: I saw Haunt Season at our screenings in 2023, so I'm not counting it, but it would be top. Outside of that, I saw Klaus on Netflix for the first time this year with my kiddo, and it was a delight. Favorite Show: Fallout I think takes the win here. I didn't watch too many new shows this year though, so it's not too tough of a call. Music: Also Chappel for me for new music, it was just such a damn vibe for the year. I also listened to a lot of Ani DiFranco this year, but that's comfort stuff from High School so it doesn't technically count for 2024 Game: Video game I played the most was Factorio, but My kiddo and I got a new board game called Patchwork which is a casual 2-player game that we REALLY enjoy. Honorable mentions go out to all the jigsaw puzzles I did this year with my partner, even though those aren't technically games :) Book: I'm reading through the Mistborn Era 2 (Wax & Wayne) books out loud to my kiddo. It's my second time reading them, but her first time experiencing them. It's a delight to have a 14 year old still want me to read out loud so that time is precious to me. Podcast: I didn't listen to a lot of podcasts this year, but Normal Gossip was probably one that I heard the most.

Music: I almost never buy video game musoc, but the Casette Beasts OST is insanely good. Game: Casette Beasts, everything I wanted from a game. I literally had tears in my eyes the first time I played it. Book: The Storm light Archives, it's hard to pick a single book, it's all one epic tale. I'm surprised that I like this, I'm usually not a fan of fantasy. Podcast: Geekenders, I've been following the hosts since I can remember, absolutely love them.

I always look forward to these every year :) Movie: Love Lives Bleeding - Muscle hottie beats the crap out of men. What more could you ask for? Show: The Walking Dead - I finally watched the final season. It wasn't the strongest ending but that show has been around in my life for a very long time so it was a significant watch for me! Book: The Haar by David Sodergren - I recommend this the most out of anything on my list! A Scottish horror about an old woman who finds a strange translucent blob on the beach. The audiobook specifically is great. Music: Jungle's whole album, Volcano - their sound is such a vibe, and the choreography in their accompanying music movie is absolutely amazing. Game: Very personal, my Aunt made two life-sized games in her backyard this year; Candyland and Chutes and Ladders. It was nuts. Podcast: Directors Commentary with Mike Flanagan. I don't even watch along but I love listening to Mike be passionate about filmmaking. I'm excited to read Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, it's been on my list!

My favourites this year! Movie: 8 Women - the french comedy drama musical! I had so much fun. Show: Leverage because I love a heist movie, but it's also feel-good because they're stealing from baddies! Music: Blame Brett by the Beaches was definitely my top song (but I did have a hot brat summer so Charli XCX was up there) Game: Overcooked, which I only played a couple of times and was AWFUL at, but my friends were fun to play with. Book: Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters - maybe my favourite historical fiction I've ever read??!! Podcast: Who shat on the floor at my wedding. I really don't love True Crime personally, but this crime and investigation was so silly that I loved the unraveling of the mystery.

always fun to see recommendations from completely different spheres of culture (of the ones mentioned, I only knew of Dune 2 and Fall Guy) my picks: - movie: Hiccups (2024) (dir. Joel Haver) - surprisingly good and creative rom-com (there were a lot of close seconds that I've seen in 2024, but I might as well pick the only one that actually released in 2024) - TV show: Pantheon (S1 and S2) - great sci-fi for IT / virtual world nerds, the animation is slightly slower paced but the dialogue and story is solid - song: Dylan Gers, Noah Yorke - Red Skies - game: Snakebird Complete (or Portal Reloaded if mods to existing games count) - both great puzzle games in their own ways - podcast: Podcast But Outside - street interviews with people that happen to be passing by a selected location (different each time), occasionally with invited guests

TV SHOW: Extraordinary Attorney Woo - a wonderful K drama/comedy about an autistic attorney. Lots of lovely feel-good vibes. Slow Horses was also great. ALBUM: Against The Fall Of Night - Sungazer BOOK: Sphere by Michael Chrichton - had only read Jurassic Park as a kid, decided to check out his other stuff - pretty good. GAME: World Of Goo 2 - not as colossal as the first one but well worth a playthrough. PODCAST: The Lonely Island (and Seth Meyers) Podcast - the sensation of the year. I am back once again and as excited as ever after a very rough year for me in so many ways. Here's to better even if yours was already the best. *Movie:* I Saw The TV Glow. Didn't actually catch a lotta new releases and the ones new to me don't deserve it! But this movie had me in a grip the whole time and was deeply emotionally resonant. If nothing else its visuals alone are immensely stunning. *TV Show:* Gravity Falls. I never got around to watching it weirdly and decided to last year. What a great show! Still got a chunk of Season 2 to get through but all the action set-pieces are fun, each character distinct (even side characters), jokes always hit, and the ongoing mystery is super intriguing! *Music:* Isobel by This I Owe. As always I have mixtapes of past year's music releases, three this time, and all are great but this song in particular RIPS. Also my favourite band WHITE SHAPE released a new album called Through The Lupine, very ambient/psychedelic synth-heavy rock. I spent multiple loops laying in bed my first listen before realizing it. *Game:* Age of Sigmar: Soulbound. I played a lot of interesting games this year but everything about the design of this game slaps. I'm not really a Warhammer fan but it does such a great job actually making the different setting options equally interesting and powerful, plus the dice mechanics and powerful/fast combat without losing risk or tension. Honourable mention to Cloud Empress which is super fucking weird in all the ways I love. *Book:* Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider. I got back into comics recently after a long time away thanks to a friend. I'm a huge Ghost-Spider/Spider-Gwen fan and this latest series has been fantastic following Gwen leaving troubles in her home universe moving to 616, only to get tangled up in new problems involving Black Tarantula. The art is absolutely choice across all panel types and having left from where I grew up for similar reasons only to fall into troubles my own, it is deeply comforting in a relatable fashion. *Podcast:* Blades of Mayari. Ah ha! Found a way to sneak in two TTRPG things without using my book slot! It's an all Filipino-Canadian cast where the setting is based on pre-colonial Filipino mythology with really solid editing and audio quality. It's short too (maybe on hiatus?) so great if you want something low commitment. ALSO HELL YES FUN CITY SHOUTOUT LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Hooray! I look forward to this every year! Movie: It's either Wicked or Everything Everywhere All at Once. Totally different vibes, but I loved them both for different reasons. TV Show: Bob's Burgers. My roommate and I are watching it, and it is just a delight every. single. time! Music: You're the One by Rhiannon Giddens. One of the songs from this album was featured on Song Exploder, and I loved it and had to listen to the whole album. There's quite a bit of Angry Girl Bluegrass Country on there which is right up my alley! Game: Hand to Hand Wombat! I played a ton of games while staying with my four nephews for a few days this summer while their mom and dad were out of town, and this was by far my favorite one. Everyone is trying to build towers with their eyes closed, but at least one person is the evil wombat destroying all your work. It's a quick game, super fun, and it comes with a fun comic about wombats written by The Oatmeal. It's a delight! Book: The Country of the Blind by Andrew Leland. It's about the author's journey from sightedness to blindness, but also so much more. It's just a really good read. Podcast: Rebel Spirit! Akilah Hughes is on a quest to get her racist high school mascot changed from a Confederate general to the Biscuits (or anything else that isn't racist). It is fascinating and frustrating and surprisingly hopeful? It's just really really good. Happy New Year y'all! I hope it's a good one for you. :)

Movie: Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. Got lucky to see this during its limited theatre run before Christmas. I saw some great films this year but I never doubted this would be my favourite. How can you top the return of cinema's greatest villain? TV Show: Barry. I finally got around to watching it, binged the whole thing in its entirety, and was blown away. Also got around to White Lotus at last but Barry barely edges it out. Music: Thick as a Brick by Jethro Tull. I think this was the first year I listened to it. Loved the band for years but hadn't checked this one out for some reason. Anyway, the whole album is one 40+ minute song in two parts. I love every second. Game: Stardew Valley. Picking my favorite movie was a challenge, because I watched 366 in 2024... BUT, I'm going to go with "Strange Darling". Willa Fitzgerald really steals the show, and the film has my favorite closing shot of all time. So good! And that's pretty much it, because I literally had no time to consume any other form of media (1 out of every 13 minutes of 2024 I spent watching a movie). I did watch Fallout, which was a very pleasant surprise. The Riven remake might be my favorite game of 2024. For music, Spotify tells me that I listened to a surprising amount of "Like a Prayer" and the theme to "Tenebrae". I didn't read much in 2024, so I guess "Atomic Habits" wins by default. I don't listen to podcasts, or at least not consistently enough for any to stand out or come to mind.

It's insane to think about how I was watching Craig and PoPS when I was 14 and now I'm turning 30 this coming September. It's always nice to come back and see these every year, makes my heart all warm and fuzzy to see y'all are still out here and still having great lives. Enough existential crisis for one comment, onto the thing. Favourite Movie: had to be either be Godzilla X Kong, or Dune: Part Two. Dune has a deep history in my family, growing up my brother and father would get into competitions of how many times they could read the original book series from start to finish, quotes from the books flew around my austistic household like crazy my entire adolescence. And Godzilla was one of my favourite movie franchises as a kid, since we had some copies on VHS when I was a kid, so both films were just nostalgia fueled experiences that paid fantastic homage to the properties I grew up with that were heavily engrained in my life. TV Show: The Bear. My partner works in food service, and we are both heavily traumatized from our childhood. I watched season 1 back when it had just finished but it was too much for me to handle before I had gone to therapy, so a few months back after I'd been in therapy for half a year, we decided to go back and watch it together, and it's such a beautiful series. The writing is fantastic, the way in which the characters react to the trauma in their lives and how it effects them in their day to day life felt so raw and realistic, and the way in which each character battles with that and overcomes their trauma through their own individual self journies is beautiful. Also the finale of Season 2 should have won some awards, idk if it did but holy shit it should have. Music: I discovered Andrew WK's last album God Is Partying and boy howdy was that a strange religious experience of listening to an artist that had been making music since I was 6 years old processing all their baggage with religion in an extremely similar way to me. It's not for everyone but boy howdy did it make me cry a few times processing everything. Game: Finally kicked back up Cyberpunk 2077, I love the setting and the lore and the relevance of it all, and it's just nice to play an open world game again where half the time I just want to get in my funky cyberpunk motorcycle and drive around in 3rd person as a fantastical interpretation and expression of myself in a silly little character. Book: I didn't read much this year, reading is super hard for me to stay focused on even when I'm in love with a book. I love reading, I just can't bring myself to sit still and read for that long, especially when I have to re-read everything 2 or 3 times to really get it, heh. Podcast: I _really_ stopped listening to podcasts in 2023, sadly I haven't listened to any podcasts this year. Happy new year! Hope 25 is as good as it can be! Hope for the best!
