On a 5 string cello, you have a choice between a high E or a low F

I have a 5-string-cello and by now I found no pleasing E-string. Spirocore E-String sounds fine, but the transition from the A-string is really difficult for me, because the strings are responding very different. Therefore the E-string sounds often too twangy, but as I hear you playing, this kind of sound seems not to be a bug but a feature for bluegrass music.

Absolutely love it. Been trying to learn Blackberry Blossom in clawhammer style lately and it's been a rough go. I like how you do it though.

Daniel Holloway I just got a 5 String Cello from Yinfente & the cool thing about the 5 String Cello w/ a High E String is that it's really large in versatility.

Daniel Holloway When I think of this 5 String Cello I think of the most popular Fiddler who made 5 String Bowed Instruments (Tuning C, G, D, A, E) super Popular named Bobby Hicks.

The really cool thing about the 5 String Cello is you can play Violin pieces down an Octave.

@UC4bZpDhkRRnhZgsx7cjUS3w @UC4bZpDhkRRnhZgsx7cjUS3w This is of course the Big Tenor Fiddle. The 5 String Cello has a nice Tenor voice, and I think the judges love that tenor voice.

A 5 String Cello, boy I'd want one of those cause they're fun to play.

Daniel Holloway Compared to a Fiddle w/ a Mezzo-Soprano (aka Deep Soprano) voice, the 5 String Cello has a so called a Baritenor (Deep Tenor) voice.

Daniel Holloway I've always wanted a 5 String Cello. It's so much easier to play than a 5 String Violin cause it sits in front of you.

Because the 5 String Cello has a High E String like the Violin, you can read Violin sheet music down an Octave right off the bat.

They should have invited Kimber Ludiker of Della Mae to play her 5 string fiddle with some sort of autotuned/melodyned setting to lower the pitch to sound like the cello. She plays Spider bit the Baby very well.

Great pickin'. I love this tune. It's the most fun in the world to play with you fellas. I like the little drone background when you're backing Sam up. You can sure finesse that bow.
