My hygienist looks with a light all around my mouth, not only under or at the sides of my tongue. Oral cancer can be anywhere in the mouth, though it’s usually found on the sides of the tongue or under it.

Yes, but that’s not what caused my cancer. I quit when I was 21 (started at 16), and my cancer was diagnosed when I was 27. In My case (and in some other woman with the same circumstances), I believe my pregnancy triggered my cancer. The change in my hormones. My cancer came out while I was pregnant with my son. Why it came back in 2020, that’s a good question. Again could be hormone related (menopause). But it’s just all too coincidental for me.

DIANA WILLIAMS Dr. Jackson is not only my Dentist, but also my friend, and he’s like my Son. I first met him during his internship after another dentist had a hard time extracting my tooth I went to him and my face was all frowned up I was scared he said “I don’t know why you frowning up like that because I already took the tooth out” I didn’t even feel it! That’s when I decided to follow him to each office he had from St.Pete to Bradenton it was never too far because He was the best Dentist and worth the drive it has been over 20yrs and many of my family members have gone to him as well. He even gave me my smile makeover when he removed all the gold teeth I had and I’ve been so pleased with my new confident smile We love him as family and I’m so very Proud of him of his accomplishments as a Successful Black Dentist Congratulations on your 20 yrs, may God Bless you to have many more!🙏🏽🙌🏽🎉 Hugs and Love Jesus Cares Lady

I just had a tongue biopsy - no one told me how incredibly painful it would be for weeks afterwards. But, like you, I have an amazing dentist. So grateful you got the help you needed and are healed !!!

I just had a tongue biopsy about 2 weeks ago as well, and I agree with you that it is extremely sore when they put the needle into your tongue to freeze it.. It was horrible and so sore as they did it 3 times the worst experience I have had with pain, then they cut a chunk out in the middle of my tongue, then stiched it up. It was sore for about a day or 2, then OK, but I had nystatin and a spray to use 4x daily. My stitches never dissolved but came out after 2 weeks when I are sonething I am still waiting on my results that they said could take up to 8-12 weeks. I'm nervous and scared, but what will be will be 😢 I'm Staying positive 🙏

Dr wheat took my tooth (cavity that caused a broken tooth )out years ago and I’m petrified and deathly scared of dentists . I’ll never forget it was a Friday and he said if anything happens over the weekend here is our number call us .... he is truly a great dentist not only for the quality of his work but his level of humanity... God bless you Dr Wheat !!!

This does not help me understand how Heartland Dental can help with anything. Morning huddles and employee management (i.e. no forbearing issues between staff) all seem pretty basic and learned through simple shadowing of a decently managed dental practice. Does not convince me that Heartland Dental has something that I need. Just my opinion though. I did leave a 'like' because I agree that those principles are helpful but its not anything groundbreaking or unique.
