Friend, cool video! Tell me, will it be better to stabilize a camera weighing 800 grams or 1600 grams with a Steadicam? It's just that as I understand it, the lighter the camera, the less weight is needed for the counterweight, which means the whole setup will be lighter, but will it be stable?
@11.PierreАй бұрын
Personally, I’ve found that heavier is better on the Thanos but*** It depends on the steadicam itself, so as long as you get one with the right capacity it’ll be fine. The Thanos I’d say, is better with heavier setups! So you don’t need this payload! So as long as it falls within the payload range it should be fine but heavier seems smoother !
@jeffsaffron5647Ай бұрын
This thing is 4500 USD before import tariffs from China, Tiffen's new Steadicam Axis is 9000 USD and it comes with Volt. I would personally rather support the company that developed the product.
@11.PierreАй бұрын
Idk, in Texas I didn’t have any import tariffs! Of course that was way before the election. I feel it though! To each is own, if price is no problem then the volt is pretty nice . Assuming the weight capacity is good for you, I wanted something for bigger rigs personally!
@mickfigura2449Ай бұрын
i wrote to the tilta, smallrig and dji support regarding this topic - they told me, the focus grip needs 8v, but the vmount provides 15v, so they said, it would fry the focus grip. did you have it in use for longer now?
@11.PierreАй бұрын
I think DJI puts out different info but you could always just use a 65w power bank as well! I haven’t had any problems other than the cable going bad before!
@NewCompVisualsАй бұрын
I have had those cheap GVM RGB panels, and one time left it out in the pouring rain and forgot about it. Long story short, I dried it out without any power attached and then turned it on. Works great. I mean, for budget gear it's pretty tough. And it's a good idea to get into an ecosystem that's good value...
@11.PierreАй бұрын
Damn I’m surprised that it worked but hey that’s what we value. I lowkey feel they are being made in the same warehouse as some od the other brands so it makes sense

@yourubens1729Ай бұрын
Nice video! How do you find the Thanos Pro Cine after all this time using it?
@11.PierreАй бұрын
I like it, the biggest thing for me was the payload capacity! I think a steadicam with electronics would be simpler but if it’s not within budget I think something like this would work fine as well!
@yourubens1729Ай бұрын
@11.Pierre what about when you shoot with manual focus? Do you always bring a Focus Puller? As I imagine you can't focus and operate a Steadicam at the same time. I have the Thanos Pro II which has been a good help to practice. I might upgrade to Thanos Pro Cine next year or a digital cinema camera suit for my Steadicam.

I was asking them about the great joy 35mm last month. I asked if they are going to have it in stock again someday, but they just answered "you can visit our shop to see our available products" I was upset because it felt like an automated message.
@11.PierreАй бұрын
I feel it, a clear lack of empathy. Idk man, they def. have to fix their customer service. It seems like common sense but I guess it's not. We're spending money at the end of the day/trying to - companies should be nice and willing to assist. The 35mm is a good lens btw!
@waynosfotoscamerasАй бұрын
The original discounts were "PRE -ORDER" so actually not available yet. No non sponsored reviews to compare. You are supporting the company to get on their feet. I pre-ordered the A set. I am not pizzed as I have used the lenses for over 6 months and love them, but to pre-release a special, and have not finished delivering them, them do a better special. It I agree is a little slap in the face! And, they have stopped the blue and Amber flares because they claim they can't keep up with delivery........
@11.PierreАй бұрын
I agree, they have to make some tweaks. If I had the original, I wouldn't have felt a way but with the delays they could def. make it better for the customers caught in limbo! I also didn't realize so many were interested in the amber/blue flares but it makes sense. Less option, faster processing (assuming of course)

Great video man, question for you is how are you measuring where the sensor is to the lidar on the Komodo? I don’t see the symbol as I would on a Sony camera as an example.
@11.PierreАй бұрын
So I have a titla cage and they have the markers on it. The marker sits just ahead of the ‘menu’ button on the Komodo based on where it’s marked on the camera cage! I’d say about half or 1cm pass the menu button.
