Where on the road do you find someone that can change a tire like that? After owning an H1 with run flats and split rims it sounded bullet proof but it ended up being its Achilles heal.
@carmas54
@carmas54 2 жыл бұрын
I don't disagree. I wouldn't do it again, but to answer your question. I contacted Conti and they pointed me to a commercial tire shop in Boise and these guys put on a new set (5 tires) last month and it only took them 15 mins (I timed them) they took the tires off,... the rims in about 10 mins to install and air up the new wheel. They look at this video prior to me showing up which made them comfortable in doing the job. But the job isn't for the faint of hearts for sure. Both Buckstop in OR and DBL in Texas now have rims that can withstand 10,000 pounds . If you go that route like you suggested, life will be a lot easier and you will be welcomed at more tire shops.

A better, stronger and more secure alternative to the Gear Aid Snap Bar repair buckle is the Sea to Summit Field Repair buckle which uses a metal removable screw to fit the strap loops rather than a flimsy plastic snap together connection. Also.. To secure the dangling straps that are still attached to your motorcycle.. Use the Wolfman X-Strap. The Wolfman X-Strap uses female snap buckle ends on all 4 straps whereas the Mosko Moto yoke is a male buckle end on one side and female on the other side. Therefore.. In order to fit the Wolfman X-Strap you have to remove the female buckle from the Mosko Moto yoke and replace it with the Sea to Summit male buckle end (or remove the Wolfman X-Strap female buckle and replace it with the Sea to Summit male buckle end) which is a further benefit of the Sea to Summit Field repair buckles as they are available in either one or two pin variety to suit your application. Cheers.

The Roadrage brand electric beer swivel cooler is a must for rural riding. Also, the Gluteus Maximus vibrating seat cover helps with long extended trips. Also, the Swinger brand LED illuminated bull testicle style swinging brake lights get the attention a safety-oriented rider demands in stop and go traffic. Top it off with FlameFarts by EpicGear. A push button controlled propane burner at the exhaust outlet illuminates the night to establish a dominant aura in navigating city night traffic.

Looks like you have had the tent for 4 years now. What is your long term ownership opinion? I'm thinking about getting one and would appreciate your opinion!
@carmas54
@carmas54 6 жыл бұрын
how do you plan on using "the" or "a tent"? This was my first tent and I learned what I like about it and what I didn't like about it too. I need a tent to take with me when I went motorcycle camping. This one weighed 12 pounds with tons of room and great if you're going to be at specific location for several days. But, when you're traveling several hundred miles a day, I wanted something that I could pitch quickly. After a while I realized that I wanted to travel lighter on my bike, so I picked up a Kelty tent that weighs 6 pounds for hot weather camping and then the same year I got a Snugpak Bunker tent that weighed 7-8 pounds because you could put the tent up in the rain without getting the inside wet. The Kelty had a separate rain sheet that you put on separately, which is great if it's not raining. I started noticing that there where specific designs that I like more than others. They're some people that own a tent for every day of the weeks, I didn't want to be that guy. I have since then sold my Redverz tent, not because its not a great tent... (and i sold my Snugpak bunker tent too), but not because they were bad tents but because I now know how I want to use "A" for my own needs. I also like to buy the best and cry once afterwards. Hilleberg tent is the place I would direct you or anybody to. The have been making tents for the longest time, and you can't beat the quality, the are pricey, but it will the last tent you will need. I live in the northeast and it gets cold. The tent that I now have is the Staika, it's a four season tent and weighs less than 8 pounds it can stand blizzards to major winds and rain storms, and can handle the hottest weather too. Picking out a tent is a process. Redverz's solo is a tent that I almost went with until I looked into Hilleberg. I hope this helps. KZbin videos also helped a lot in my decision process. So let me know how you plan on using your/tent, in what climate, motorcycle or car camping weight restriction and budget

@@carmas54 Thank you for your thoughtful response. My main use will be summer camping trips on my motorcycle. I will be traveling every day going to a new site every night. I will be traveling solo most of the time. I live in the Southwest near the mountains. A 4 season tent may be the smart move. During the middle of the summer you can get temp's down in the 30's.
