I love everything about mine except that there's no bearings in the wheel. It's just a plastic hub with a hole and an axle through it. When the barrow is loaded up heavy, it doesn't push as easily as it should. Looks like a Carp Porter replacement wheel will fit so I'll be upgrading the wheel soon. Excellent design otherwise. The wheel is centered under the barrow, rather than more to the front like most other barrows, so no matter how you load it up, you're never lifting much or any weight. If I extend the front, I will most certainly actually be pushing down on the handles while walking with the barrow.
@fftfishing6 күн бұрын
Some good points you've made there. After over 3 years nines still going strong and I've only had to pump up the wheel once in this time. As I mainly use it for my pike fishing its never really loaded up for a long session. I must admit though I did a 3 night session on Norton Disney and under the weight of all my gear it wasn't the easiest thing to push haha. But it's survived many trios over rugged terrain around reservoirs and in all honesty it's still like new. The bags it comes with are also still in great condition which is a testament to their quality.

just a little tip for you - camera wise -- when you do those panning shots, just get the focus (on infinity typically) then either lock it off or flick the switch to Manual focus, then you won't get those annoying jitters where the AF tries to reset. 🤩
@fftfishing6 ай бұрын
Hi, I appreciate the feedback. My camera skills/knowledge aren't the best. Plus the whole thing is filmed via my mobile phone. Do the phone cameras have this function? Maybe I should look at buying a proper camera
@ianchappytube6 ай бұрын
@@fftfishing you can shoot in manual on most phones, but not so sure about AF. If you check through instructions it may be an option. Anyway, that's the cure for the AF jitter on panning which is definitely a known issue.

Three things from an old pike killer; 1- Pike are always on the break, where bays with feeder creeks drop into deeper water. They will usually be at the bottom of the break, in the crease, you can reach from the corner. 2- Catch a smaller one of those trout, and bait that up, since Pike that are get lots of fishing pressure get super smart, and will take natural bait better. 3- Big smart Pike can feel that lead weight you're throwing, try taking those off. Great video and good luck out there .. From Alaska
@fftfishing7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback, and I fully agree with your comments. Unfortunately the water I was fishing doesn't allow you to use the trout that are in the water and only frozen baits bought on site can be used. I do also do free lining although the distant I needed to get into the deeper water where the shelf falls down wouldn't be reachable without the use of the lead. The rig is set up in a way though where the pike can take line without feeling any resistance. So we do what we can to try and bag a gig 1 haha. I'm glad my audience stretches beyond the shores of the UK. Tight lines my friend

Peg2 in my eyes is best on the lake
@fftfishing8 ай бұрын
Yeah its a good peg mate, as you've got the shallows to your left dropping into the deeper water so the back margin seems to be the start of the patrol route. My favourite peg is the last 1 in the basin but It's always taken haha
@fftfishing10 ай бұрын
There aren't any big waters near me. I travel south to get to these lakes and it's a bit of a trek, working full time and having 4 kids doesn't allow me the time to travel further afield. I agree partly with what you say although to ban them?? These waters have their place and enable a lot of people to get out and fish

Thanks mate, and I can believe that there's fish of that size up there. I had a little session during the summer with a float after some perch and couldn't believe the amount of bream and roach that were km the marina so the food source is definitely there. I may have a session or 2 on the marina this winter but I'm focusing more on the rivers and lochs up Scotland to try and find a monsters. The campaign is starting in a couple of weeks so hopefully I'll have a few videos to upload between now and the end of the pike season
