@martincorcoran8263 thabks for the support mate. I've not uploaded anything for a while but I've a few pike trips planned over the next few months so some more content will be coming 👍

I've fished a here times over the years and I was hoping to fishing quite a lot this season but to many obstacles came up which meant I couldn't give it the time needed. It's undoubtedly q of the most beautiful places to fish though.

Three things from an old pike killer; 1- Pike are always on the break, where bays with feeder creeks drop into deeper water. They will usually be at the bottom of the break, in the crease, you can reach from the corner. 2- Catch a smaller one of those trout, and bait that up, since Pike that are get lots of fishing pressure get super smart, and will take natural bait better. 3- Big smart Pike can feel that lead weight you're throwing, try taking those off. Great video and good luck out there .. From Alaska

Thanks for the feedback, and I fully agree with your comments. Unfortunately the water I was fishing doesn't allow you to use the trout that are in the water and only frozen baits bought on site can be used. I do also do free lining although the distant I needed to get into the deeper water where the shelf falls down wouldn't be reachable without the use of the lead. The rig is set up in a way though where the pike can take line without feeling any resistance. So we do what we can to try and bag a gig 1 haha. I'm glad my audience stretches beyond the shores of the UK. Tight lines my friend

@@fftfishing Yeah brother, there's nothing like it when the water goes flat calm, like it was for you that second day, and you're waiting for that monster lurker to pick your offering up. Tight lines to you too !!

Hi mate, think that was me out in the boat but I was after pike on the fly not trout 👍 enjoyed the vid. Cheers!
@fftfishing9 ай бұрын
Haha no way.... did you manage to get anything? From what I could see over the 2 days there didn't seem to be much action.
@Smuttleydog9 ай бұрын
@@fftfishing had a pike of around a pound on for a few seconds that took at the side of the boat thrashed and come away and one other missed pluck. Tough gig! Keep the videos coming mate and tight lines!

@Smuttleydog it certainly was a tough gig, and I'll certainly be making some more videos. I have a a project going on that I've been doing for 9 months now but it's not finished. But should be a good watch. Tight lines

just a little tip for you - camera wise -- when you do those panning shots, just get the focus (on infinity typically) then either lock it off or flick the switch to Manual focus, then you won't get those annoying jitters where the AF tries to reset. 🤩
@fftfishing9 ай бұрын
Hi, I appreciate the feedback. My camera skills/knowledge aren't the best. Plus the whole thing is filmed via my mobile phone. Do the phone cameras have this function? Maybe I should look at buying a proper camera
@ianchappytube9 ай бұрын
@@fftfishing you can shoot in manual on most phones, but not so sure about AF. If you check through instructions it may be an option. Anyway, that's the cure for the AF jitter on panning which is definitely a known issue.

@ianchappytube I shall have a play around before my next outting. Thanks again

That trout looks like a sea trout.
@fftfishing3 ай бұрын
@melvynwood2824 I was debating this with a friend, we can't decide whether it was a sea trout of a tiger trout (both of which reside in the water). I do think it was a sea trout though
@leegraham59113 ай бұрын
Stocked brown no tiger trout in there.
@fftfishing3 ай бұрын
@@leegraham5911 well it that's the case it was definitely a sea trout haha

It's a shame Jim is moving on from esthwaite, I've really enjoyed fishing it under his ownership. We will see what the future holds :)
@fftfishing3 ай бұрын
@nathantyson5265 I fully agree, Jim's a top bloke and he's turned Esthwaite into a fantastic fishery. Whoever comes in though has a great foundation to build upon so I can still see the place thriving. Well let's hope so haha
