I have a question, I am a newbie 4.5 months with microlocs. I wash my hair every to weeks dry just until damp and roll it up with the hard snap on rollers. I take them out and the curls last almost to my next wash. Will this damage my locking process having it curled all the time? Or should I just let them hang straight. I'm really nervous don't want to do anything wrong.

Hi i think this is the missing link of loctician. Most only retie, maybe style if you beg….I don’t like nor have the knowledge of knowing how to care of my hair…developed scarring alopecia because of retightening too often under the direction of my loctician

@victoriapope33 I run from money hungry people in any industry. I always encourage people to do their research not just on the technique but on the loctician. People are so focused on titles that they get screwed over left and right. It's unfortunate 😕

Have you ever used Alaffia’s Authentic African Black Soap ? I love it! THOUGH I just installed microlocks and I think it might be too moisturizing. I used it & thought “ Is this the same hair? I think it clarified my hair before the process my hair was like an shrinking interlocking nest like 4b (which I thought was perfect for locking) when I used it after I thought my hair instantly changed to like 3c or something, almost curly and springy, very weird but I like it… alas I think maybe it is too moisturized and I have to use a better clarifying shampoo if I want a chance at locking

I lost the top of my hair and didn’t even know because I kept it in a pony tail all the time. I was sick for a year and it ate my locks up. 😭I’m just now recovering but my meds also continue taking my hair out. Now I’m healed and detoxed from the meds and back on track but meds and sickness can also cause loss of hair integrity. I absolutely take biotin(6weeks on then break) , liposomal Vit. C, D-K2, get in the sun 15+mins, Iron. Just need to increase my water.

I have a tight curl pattern my locs are locking at the very top the first 2 inches but no locking below that. Is this how the locking process is supposed to work from top to bottom? I was under the impression it would start to lock evenly all over. I’m 10 months loc’d
