@@jaygilligan Some devices works Great and thats Cool. But some devices (like most of TE stuff) Make you feel something when you use them, and maybe don't work as you expect/want. For me thats Enough.. And you demonstrate that beautifully in your video.

Was about to purchase it a year ago when I saw that and their attitude just put me off...the other field items are superb but this is the one I'd get the most out of yet their ineptitude is keeping me away, kinda sad. @@Farold_Haltermeyer to be very honest, i've only used the tp-7 twice since i got it. once was to record an album... which i kind of regretted using it for that in the end. it was hard to understand at what level the incoming signal needed to be to sound good on the internal recording. i could have used several other devices to capture the recording. then recently i got the tp-7 out as a super portable recorder for a line input signal out of the TE stem player. that's been pretty fun though i haven't listened back to the recordings except through the internal speaker on the tp-7. i was close to selling the tp-7 several times but... i search the forums and reddit each day, everyone says that the new firmware update will be revolutionary and make it impossible to live without th tp-7. for the life of me i can't imagine what that would be beyond usb cable directly from the op-1f to the tp-7 with live multitrack recording of its 4 tracks (8 stereo) which is what everyone has wanted from the op-1 since it was first released...

@@jaygilligan that's fair...for my usage case it's field recordings/sample sources at almost instant notice in the wild, recording live jams of acoustic and electronic instruments and as a bounce machine to work alongside a Smpltrek, LoFi-XT and several OP-1's so it seems almost designed for my usage cases more than yours in the end!

@@Farold_Haltermeyer yeah i hear you! the thing is, i would use it for a bunch of things if only there were 1 or 2 little adjustments to its work flow and functionality. i was first most interested in using it together with tx-6 as a little portable live set- have each of my tracks in multi-track format, then mix it live on the tx-6 with effects. which i can still do but overall just like lack of loop points, lack of live looping control, etc. makes it a chore to deal with. as well there's a bunch of things i would use it for now... except i have pretty much in 100% of the cases something else which just works better for that job in the moment.

i'm a touring artist, its how i make my living. having small gear is actually life changing in terms of airplane travel. being able to throw this mixer in my backpack and not worry about having to check it as luggage is a miracle. i've used the tx-6 on tour for 2 years now, its never once crashed or broken or let me down. i'd say its my most essential gear. i'm 6'2.5" ... if you're looking for a mixer for wild gesture live performing with big movements of your hands, this is not that mixer. but if you want something that is reliable, quiet, amazing sound quality, good solid effects, you just can't go wrong with the tx-6

also, to be clear, you can't upload your own tracks on the TE stem player even if you find one. it just comes preloaded with JIK by ye. you have 2 options for hardware in relation to your specific question here- the first is to get the kano stem player, then you can upload your own tracks and they have a stem splitting website for tracks as well. they say they are sold out on their website but you can easily find them on resell platforms or just email the company directly, they will sell to you that way. then, the other TE option will work with the tx-6 only if you pair it with the tp-7. if you hook them up by usb, you get 6 stereo multitracks out from the tp-7 directly into the 6 tracks on the tx-6. then you can level each track on the tp-7 and use the tx-6 effects on each track. i've done it and its super cool! but the kano player is only $200. otherwise the tx-6 and tp-7 is, what, $2700 all together or something? but i think the tx-6 is my most used piece of gear. and there is rumored to be a huge tp-7 update which will make it worth its price coming soon.... if you go the TE route, you will have to put together 6 stereo track multitrack .wav files to load onto the tp-7 which will take a lot of work on your part. the kano stem player is plug and play with their stem splitting service that's free. as well on the kano player you have more immediate playback effects. the TE combo would pretty much just be for straight forward playback and mostly tweaking levels, with some bonus audio effects...

the only way i know to disable the motor is to menu dive

thanks- i sent the broken one back. i actually ordered 2 at first not because i wanted to have 2 of them but exactly because i heard reports they were broken upon arrival and i wanted to increase my chance that i'd get one that worked. so i always intended to send one back and i'm really glad i ordered 2 to start with so i had one that worked!

@@jaygilligan ah i see good thinking. Hopefully theyve tighten up on quality control. The metal bit i can understand & could always put some loctite on it. But the main on\off glitching out 🙄 was hoping to just carry it in a coat pocket to catch sounds out & about. Has the other one been trouble free so far?

@@eyesintheskies yeah so far the one i kept has been working as it should. i heard there will be a big firmware update which will make it much more functional. but i still pick it up and seriously expect it to not turn on or something at some point... wouldn't be surprised!

@@jaygilligan thats good to know, think id have to find a nice small case so it would still fit in my pocket. But i guess anything at this price point used as a daily carry would be a worry. A lot of people travel with their op1s & they seem fairly sturdy. Really tempting 🤔

yeah, just saw mystere 3 more times 2 weeks ago. when i first heard the new bungee music i tried to pretend that it was all good. but this last trip to vegas... really missing kunya, the new song did not sound any better from when it was first put into the show.

Wtf why would they get rid of it? That was one of the best Cirque songs... this song sucks. That kind of makes me lose interest in seeing Mystere again next time I'm in Vegas.

thank you! i got a hot tip that there's a huge major TP-7 update dropping soon. the update will most likely be something like the scratching of the wheel records to the track now. and as well looping in and out points. stuff like that. but not multitrack from op-1f... though that's all me just guessing beyond that i heard the update is happening. also the TX-6 got a huge update yesterday with sampling, looping, and 2 x aux sends!!

yes! great point! now that its been a year since it was announced, and about half a year since i received my unit, i can say that i've used it exactly once. i recorded an album with it. and even then i'd think twice about going through that process a second time. i'm waiting for a firmware update which makes it play nicely with other field gear and also have more functionality on its own. its nice to look at though! i do believe someone did a teardown of it back when units started shipping. i did a quick search now but didn't find the link. i saw it on reddit...

for 500 bucks you can get 5 of the tripods to put the tp-7 on!!!

@@jaygilligan Hopefully, Ooora has made a couple of videos, he’s got one already, the ‘listen mode’ he demonstrates is not something I knew was a function. It looks like a brilliant device. I’ve ordered the combo I mention myself, just waiting for the S4 to come in. I’m sure we’ll enjoy it.

meh... depends on what intention or result you want to have from the recordings. the internal mic is pretty fine for voice memos... but for out and about capturing specific sounds... you might have to use an external mic. then you might as well get a real field recorder for an order of magnitude cheaper. i don't know, as it is right now without firmware updates its kind of useless

i use my tx-6 daily! i even use its drum machine function in my new live set. i just used the tp-7 for the first time yesterday since making this video here. it was ok i guess, but even what i was doing with it wasn't so easy. however, i did hear from a very reliable source that TE is going to release the new firmwares for all the field line which will give them many more functions in the future. so i think i will wait until then and see what happens. i heard first they are going to ramp up their production of the tp-7. guessing that when there's more of them out there, then the firmware updates will roll out...

@@jaygilligan I received the tx6 last week and yea as a drum machine it’s very very nice and I appreciate that I can use high impedance headphones . I hope we will be able to built our own sequence with the next firmware
