She used Peters name to get Tesco under her belt. Ruthlessness, backstabbing and lying seems the way to power and money. Just ask Kier Starmer.

She is not nice or ethical talking about Peter Jones the way she does. So the deal went through but no need to be arrogant about it. Not a nice person and not a nice business woman.

Makes sense. If your process to sign a deal is so slow that it allows you to see how things evolve... thing have evolved, and the deal needs to be different.

She is a terrible business partner. She publicly agreed to work with Peter and then reneged. Disgustingly unethical.
@StewedFishProductionsАй бұрын
TBF - They were NOT business partners because nothing had been 'signed'. They had a 'cooling off' period of nine months, during which time their business had 'grown' without the help of Peter Jones... So why would anyone then want to hand over a percentage to someone who had not actually been involved? DUH! Nothing 'unethical' and guaranteed, Peter Jones would have had NO HESITATION in pulling out of any business dealings should the positions been reversed! 🤔
@harrymartin684Ай бұрын
Not at all, the majority of deals agreed on Dragons Den don't go through for various reasons - sometimes the dragons pull out, sometimes the investee. It's called due dilligence. The dragons agreeing a deal on television doesn't constitute a contract being signed - that comes much later.

Great chat with Kim. Photography has certainly evolved significantly, to the point where success in the industry often seems accessible if you have the financial resources and a basic sense of composition. Years ago, I shadowed Darren Heath, and I was disappointed to find that much of his process involved holding down the shutter 24/7 continuously and selecting the best shots afterward. In contrast, I worked with a modest Nikon F100, limited to 32 frames per role, where capturing the perfect moment required precise timing and careful attention to settings. Photography was a true test of skill-but those days seem to be long behind us.

Wow!! What an insightful conversation! I'm so happy I found this channel and episode. I started following Jo Bird a while ago on LinkedIn as an aspiring branding professional. I love her content and her personal touch to everything she does. I'm still learning about being a creative, but it's amazing to see successful people out there, like you both, talking about branding, especially personal branding and the stories behind it all! And of course, it was great practical advice, especially as someone trying to plan my career. And I absolutely loved the entire conversation! Your questions were so thoughtful and invoked great energy and deep responses from Jo! It was like watching a conversation between two friends. Love the work- now I'm subscribed!
