Essentially, though you want to use your listing titles and descriptions to convey important information to shoppers while including effective keywords that are relevant to your listings. This means using a mix of long tail keywords that show promising engagement with other relevant search phrases that match your buyer's search intent. Think of ways shoppers use your product, who it's for, etc. So if you sell custom-knit hats, you could try something like this: Title: Fisherman Beanie - Knit Cycling Cap Summer Beanie, Satin Lined Hat, Gift for Him Description: Perfect for any outdoor adventure, our Fisherman Beanie is the ideal summer beanie designed for the active man. Lined with satin to prevent hair friction and enhance comfort, this knit beanie is perfect for a cycling cap, hiking hat, or any outdoor activity. [Then go into detail about what makes the hat unique, who it's for, how to care for it, when to wear it, etc. You can also include care instructions, more about the creation process, sizes, materials, and so on.] This listing title uses long tail keywords that show promising engagement and touches on the most relevant focus keywords within the first few lines of the description. Ultimately, it's up to the seller to make sure their product is an accurate depiction of your keywords (i.e., this hat should be wool knit, lined with satin, have a bill-type expected for cycling caps, and should be worn on the crown of the head similar to fisherman beanies, etc. Hope this info helps! For this question, we have to give everyone's favorite answer, yes and no. Changing quantity itself doesn't have a direct effect because, at this point in time, it's not a good way to identify the potential success of an Etsy shop. For example, a digital SVG creator might have unlimited listings, while someone who makes one-of-a-kind items only has one. However, Etsy does like to see activity in your shop. So if they see sellers adding more inventory, it tends to be helpful because that indicates movement in a shop. Etsy doesn't tell us how they look for this or how much weight they place on it. But we know they like to see movement. Finally, if someone's quantity goes from 50 to 35 because they've sold 15 of those items, then those sales will absolutely have a positive effect on the algorithm. So changing quantity shouldn't directly affect the algorithm, but it may have an indirect effect.

Hi! A few options come to mind: Based on the fact that you're drop shipping from China - your processing times are probably already pretty long. If you're already letting your customers know where your products ship from, then I think an explanation about a further extension of processing times due to Chinese New Year is warranted and would be well received by your customers. Anybody that ships and receives products from China regularly should be pretty familiar with factory closures during this time of the year. However, if downtime is something you cannot sustain with your business, that's understandable. You may want to look for an additional supplier that you can work with throughout the year to help fill the gap during Chinese New Year. Your profit margin may not be as large with a new supplier you find elsewhere, but at least you're not shutting down operations for a month. If you can find a second supplier you like working with, you can work new listings into your Etsy shop that are maybe priced just a little higher than the custom products you currently offer. During the downtime with your current supplier you can deactivate those listings and only offer products from your second supplier.

@@MarmaleadSEO Thank you so much for the reply. Actually, my products are shipped from the US but we do rely on China for supplies. Typically, custom jewelry takes 2-3 weeks to be shipped. I increased the time and added all the information to my Announcements. One of my vendors will be producing and shipping normally for non customized items. And another vendor will only be closed for a few days during the holiday. I'm glad I was able to stay open. My shop is limited to what can be shipped during the holiday but I'm able to offer some products. Thanks again for your great advice. I really appreciate it and I will be checking out new vendors during this time.

Think of it like this, every order, on-time delivery, and positive review has a good impact on your listing quality score, which we know has a direct impact on the algorithm favoring your listings. But the algorithm also looks at time on listing page, total number of views, favorites, and CTR - all in relation to completed purchases. So when all these are running smoothly and you're getting solid engagement and sales (with happy customers) then you'll make positive strides with the algorithm. Since every listing that sells gets a bump in SEO, if someone bought one item, that one item would get a bump in the algorithm. If they bought 10 items, all 10 items would get a bump (as long as everything else the algorithm looks at is also in line).
