Is D10 in section 3 just laying flat or resting atop the pegs?

D10 floats, it is held up by the F5's (see section 4)

55:15 THIS! THIS RIGHT HERE! I have an issue with my kit, I’ve assembled everything seemingly correctly but when I spin the big gear only it moves? It seems like my moon isn’t reaching far enough down to get any traction so it just stays still. It’s also weirdly wobbly? I’ve tried countless things! I’ve measured and remeasured, I’ve tried freehanding the placement of the smaller cog to fill the gap, I’ve even taken apart most of my music box and reassembled it to make sure there was no weird placement going on. I have no idea what’s wrong and it’s super frustrating! No matter what I do I can’t seem to fix it and I don’t want to keep working on it until this part is fixed since it’ll be so hard to reach once it’s all done :( Edit: I figured it out! So the illustrated instructions are great but the written ones are only a few words here and there with no mention of future steps (for example there’s no mention of when what parts are supposed to be moving how and sometimes the instructions make no sense when you don’t have any context for the future) so I had no idea that the movement part came in later. It’s all good and working now but boy was I confused earlier 😅

How can you tell which is the “rough” side of the plastic piece?? It looks like a square to me, not a trapezoid 😢 stuck!!!
@rgauck22 күн бұрын
If you look at the plastic piece, P6, from the side the top or bottom should be wider, it can be difficult to determine however. It appears the rough side is the wider side. I had trouble with this as well, as you can see in the video. If I remember correctly, if you try to push the wider side of P6 into C2 first, it does not fit very well, if is does not fit flip P6 and try again.

What is that small transparent looking piece you use to rub? What does it do?
@GotterVibezАй бұрын
I finished this piece and it was really cool but a bit disappointed that it doesnt rotate by its own, considering it is powered by usb ... We have to rotate it manually and the electric power is only powering the leds. The rotation mechanism is manual 😢 otherwise, abeautiful object to decorate the home. Thank you for the video😊

Howdy! Before I get on to my questions, I want to say that this is a really good tutorial as it shows someone actually do the work as such so that others can mimic it. It is really helpful! But, I'm still scratching my head around wax, it's not that i don't know how to use it. It's that I can't seem to find something similar to your wax. Did I overlook it? Is this just something on my end?
@rgauckАй бұрын
From what I understand they are not able to ship the wax to all countries, I am not sure why however. You can use candle wax. If the wax is a bunch of pressed pellets melt them into a solid chunk.

My daughter bought this for me for Father's Day and I just completed it. I have assembled many wood puzzles from Rokr, Ugears and Wood Trick. Your video definitely helped with the assembly. The wood used by Rokr is not nearly as good a quality as Wood Tricks. As soon as I pulled the piece back and it locked in place part C5 broke as I hit the release button. C5 was installed at section 4 and I wasn't going to uninstall it just to glue it back together, the cheap wood used by Rokr should not be made for something like this that is a working mechanism. Anyway thanks for video, it was great, the wood not so great. For a little extra money I'll stick with Wood Trick puzzles. I haven't had a bad piece yet with them.
@rgauck3 ай бұрын
I have not done a Wood Trick puzzle yet. I ordered one to check it out. Thanks
@66lwmorgan3 ай бұрын
@@rgauck At 1:20:25 where you were trying to pull, release the trigger is the exact same problem I had. That's where C5 broke because this wood is to easy to break, you can't bend this stuff, it's to weak. It reminds me of the old Balsa wood airplanes from many years ago. I ended up taking it apart, gluing back together and then adding 2 staples to it so it wouldn't break again and it works great now. Once again thank you for the video and good luck with Wood Trick, I think you'll be happy with their wood puzzles.

It certainly didn’t take my son and me 2 hours, even with this video, more like 20 as I had to backtrack a fair few times as the printed instructions are mediocre. Had fun at least. I suggest using one of the shorter leftover metal rods and caps at the bottom side to thread through the aligned holes to hold the two main parts of the base and the shaft in place. Frankly, it’s puzzling how many parts are left over.
@rgauck4 ай бұрын
There are a lot of left over pieces. I am glad there are. I have had to use the spare pieces when I have broken some pieces. This took me about 4-5 hours to build. I generaly remove the part where I am snapping out pieces from the plywood sheet. I like your suggestion as well.

I was wiggling the piece slightly while pushing down. I don't remember using a lot of force. It's a difficult angle. The other thing you can try is to sand a slight bevel into the post that will make it allign better.

Yo... Thank you for such an amazing, easy to follow, and comprehensive build video! I'm following along with yours as I build mine. I've been watching your vid and switching back and forth with UGEARS official build vid also. Yours is much better for seeing exactly how the pieces work and fit. I watch the UGEARS one to just double check for fitment and stuff. Theirs is good. But fast and offer no vocal help. I like that you actually go through the entire build explaining things as you go. And to top it all off .... You have chapters for each page! Awesome!!! This is only my second wood kit. The first one was Rokr's Illuminated globe lamp. It turned out ok. But I realized I could probably find something online to help with this one, especially since it's way more complicated than the globe one. You def got me a a new sub!
