Not living far from there growing up we visited the place quite often,then when I was a teenager in the late seventies I was hitching a ride on I 87 when a red Chevy Caprice with Santa 1 license plates,and merry Christmas on the trunk lid stopped to pick me up, in the car was a man with a long white beard wearing a red leisure suit with white ruffle trim.he introduce himself as Santa Claus and was on his way to Albany to do a commercial for Revlon. I still have the card he signed to me after we had coffee at Ho. Jo's.in Queensbury, it reads yep John rode in my sleigh today love Santa Claus.

Is Gorge Trail hard for the children to walk? Many steps? Thank you .
@oliveouradventures22 күн бұрын
@@pierali3844 it can be difficult and very slick at times. Depending on how old your child is I would suggest taking many breaks along the way. If they are dependent on a stroller. I would recommend holding off. Otherwise It also depends on time of year, it can be very busy with traffic. We carried our son in a carrier the whole way which also is extremely difficult.

Hi, we are planning a “road trip” to upstate New York in the coming summer. I wonder how long do we need to play in this zoo & safari. We have a 7 year old and 3 year old. Half day or a full day?
@oliveouradventures3 ай бұрын
Hi! We recommend half day for the zoo and safari. The zoo itself is not very big and it took us about an hour or so to get through the whole zoo. There is also a drive through safari with your own vehicle and safari ride. However we personally have not done the safari ride but if it is anything like other safari rides, it will take about 30 minutes or so. A fun experience we also recommend is feeding the giraffes but I would take cash for that. I would also either make plans to have lunch there at the zoo or go to a local restaurant nearby as you are not allowed to take any outside food and drinks into the zoo. It is fairly expensive overall for tickets so whether you make it a full day or a half day is really whatever your preference at the end of the day. Hopefully this helps.

@@oliveouradventures Thanks for your reply! We live in Long Island and are considering leaving home in the morning and grabbing lunch near the park. And then play there for half a day. We went to Bronx Zoo a lot, but this zoo looks like it has more chances to interact with the animals, and also, the kids can get closer to them. We plan to stay there for the afternoon. Hopefully, we have enough time for this.

I didn't know The Anchor Bar had a location in Niagara Falls, but used to visit their original Buffalo location occasionally as there used to be an inexpensive motel in close proximity. Personal recommendation: DON'T try their hottest wing sauce! As for the main attraction, the Canadian side is best for the panoramic views and nighttime photography, while I always spent more day time enjoying the up-close and personal interaction with the river and falls on the American side. For a little more peace & quite away from the crowds, a walk around Goat Island to the south end and out onto the Three Sisters islands helps balance a day at The Falls. Thanks for sharing. Even though we are occasionally nearby in Lewiston, we haven't been to The Falls in more than a decade since I retired. Safe travels to you all.

I was blessed one yr to go to the Adirondacks during fall time! We always went in summer! My fall Adirondack trip was so memorable due to the extreme fall beauty! Fall to your left fall to your right fall behind ya fall ahead of you , just fallfantasic ;) The best fall experience of my life was in Old Forge New York:)

Haven't been there since the late fifties, but seems very familiar. Fortunately we visited in the middle of summer, and rubbing our hands on The North Pole was very refreshing! Remarkably, Santa hasn't aged at all.

Loved your video, and thanks for taking us along. For your next visit, and other viewers, I recommend going further up the road from the overlook to look at the upper falls from the old railroad bridge on The Black Diamond Trail, a rails-to-trails route between Taughannock and Ithaca.
