Don’t call 116117 in general. It is only when the usual doctors places are closed (weekend, night) and you have an emergency that you can’t wait until monday to reopen the usual doctors places but is not urgent enough to call an ambulance.

The iced tea had the old price of -,42 € == 0,42 €. Therefore the price is crossed out. The translator used distorts the meaning. The indication for a negative price would be - 0,42 €. Note that a dot separates the thousands and the comma separates the decimal places 1.000.007,42

It is pretty much the same as in the Netherlands. And having said so, I remembered what my grandpa said about his house. When it was build and finished, the contactor said, this house will last a 100 years. The house still exists after almost 100 years! And it will certainly last decades more (maybe another 100 years). Only the interior is removed and changed. And the roof is renovated, but most of the rooftiles are still there. I think, in the Netherlands, Germany and many other European countries, houses are build to last and must withstand a storm easily. By the way, more heavier rooftiles are available in the Netherlands: up to 20 or 25 kg (44 to 55 lbs).

1- Not spiritual restrictions, the accurate translation would be mental impairments 2- 1st of may in germany is a holyday and its the "tag der arbeit"- "day of work" and thats the day noone works, get it? Du-Röhre- KZbin, Du is You Röhre or Rohr would be tube Moin is a greeting in northern Germany translates to mornin' but they use it all day, the rest of germany hates it, Servus is said in Bavaria (southern germany, i have no translation as it means nothing but a greeting) and the rest of germany hates it but they hate each other even more than the rest of germany. Just watch a Seitenbacher Commercial to the end and youll get it (they all end with "lecker lecker lecker Seitenbacher [insert product name here], Seitenbacher [insert product name here] lecker lecker lecker" in a high pitched annoying voice, you hear it for the 3rd time and just wanna smash your tv to bits I didnt get the one with the jellyfish but i assume he wanted to write "feuerglatze", glatze is the name of the haircut with no hair (so when you are bald) so it would be "stroke the firebald" wich in english makes no sense because a head can be bald but bald is not the word for "hairless haircut" so this only makes sense in german To get the one with willy you need to understand the german schooling system and its complicated and stupid, lets leave it at that. The 9/11 reference- well german humor is dark and you laughed Yes 7k€ but you can travel in all trains all across germany with 100% discount The gulligulliramsamsam (at least thats how i learnes it) is part of a song for children (wich originally comes from some arabic states as far as im informed) but the entrance to the canal he is pointing at is called "gulli" in germany

5:50 that "-.42" means 42 cents, the minus is just a placeholder for a 0. you often see it if something is 25€ and they write "25,--" to tell you it´s exactly 25€ 7:10 that last line is the extra charge if you don´t pay the 10€ on time. total cost in this case is 10€ 11:30 ketchup and curry ketchup are 2 very different things, it´s like you compare a tomato sauce and ketchup. i personally don´t really like normal ketchup either, but curry ketchup is a whole different thing

The "-" sign isn't meant to be a "negative" sign in this context but it's used instead of a "0". It's somewhat common practice to display prices below 1 € as something like "-.41" rather than "0.41". (You can also do it the other way around if you have an amount of exactly 1 € or any other whole number and write it as "1.-" instead of "1.00".) I don't know if there is any good reason reason for doing it that way, but maybe it makes people "feel" like it's even cheaper if there are only two digits instead of three or it makes it more obvious at a first glance that it's less than one Euro.

9:52 if you want to know more about why Germany is called those different names, check out the video "Explaining the Many Names of Germany/Deutschland/Allemagne etc." by History With Hilbert. It's a little under 8 minutes and packs everything you need to know. TL;DR the name relates to "We The People" rather than to an individual tribe's name.

I have used 116117 twice with relatively good experiences, but you should allow for waiting time. I got swine flu 9 years ago and was plagued with a 40C (104F) fever, hardly a cough or anything, just a fever and weird joint pain and swollen lymph nodes. After three days in bed, I called the hotline, they asked very pointed questions and the lady made sure three times about the fever and said she'd call back. She called back 10 minutes later and told me to wait, the doctor would come to my home. I lived in Wilhelmshaven at the time (the largest naval base in Germany) and an hour later a navy doctor in full uniform stood in front of my door and I thought I was having fever dreams, the doctor had to laugh out loud at the look on my face 😂 He examined me thoroughly and injected me with a strong remedy for fever and pain in the iliac crest (metamizole, banned in the USA and many other countries, widely used here) and jokingly said that I had put up a braver fight than some marines 😂 Damn that was a cool guy. The second time I had food poisoning, the doctor called back after two hours, apologized for the long wait and asked questions, recommended medication which my friend got straight away and gave me precise instructions on which symptoms I should go to hospital for and not stay alone until then.

Big misconception: There is no *free* health care in Germany. But there is public health care and private health care. In private health care you pay less when you are young and healthy and more when you are getting older and less healthy. In public health care you pay less when you earn less and more when you are earn more. But In both cases, you have to pay. Anyway, most of the treatment is (usually) included, so you don't have to pay extra money for being treated. I do not understand why Americans think that health care is free in Germany.

Welcome to the civilized world: If I want to talk to my doctor, I call between 8 and 9. If I want an appointment I call after 9, or do it on the net. If I want to renew my perscriptions, I do it on the net, or call the secretary. (She sends them to ALL the chemists in the country twice a day.) Video consultations is an option. But they STILL do home call. Like if you can't move, or eg. children and old folks can be tricky to transport. The cost? I don't know. I pay my taxes and the medicin cost will NOT break my budget.

If the ambulance is not an emergency you also have to pay in Germany... i had a "car accident" where i was hit by a car as a pedestrian and since i was bleeding pretty badly i called an ambulance and was taken to the hospital.... because the EMTs filled out something wrong my insurance said it wasn't an emergency and they sent me a bill... i mean it was 48€ and a quick call to explain them what happened and they told me i didn't have to pay... but there's still instances where you do have to pay for an ambulance in germany (it's not all that much though)

The doctor, checked on him at home to make sure he was improving at the end of the day twice that week.

We never pay per week, we pay rent per month. just like salaries, we get paid per month!! Maybe in UK you pay per week, I´m not too sure about this. In Germany or in many European countries people pay their rent per month! ^^ in eatsern German yfood, rent are so much cheaper that´s you earn less than other regions of Germany, it makes sense why people in eastern Germany earn less, lower salatry because of lower cost, makes absolutly sense!!

0,25 Cents Pfand means: you pay 0,41 cents for the peach ice tea plus 0,25 cents deposit (= Pfand) for the bottle. The deposit is an incentive for recycling since you get your money back when you return the empty bottle into the store’s recycling bottle machine ( or at any other store). However this sign is confusing since „EINWEG“ means the bottle is not returnable. So they take 25 cents extra.. without returning it??? Maybe I’m too stupid to understand this sign…😢

116117, yeah quite helpful, they are usually available after normal opening hours. I had incredible pain from around midnight, I made through to 2:30, then i called, Dr came at 3 and told not to wait for long before calling next time, cos it was close. They only write invoices when one has a private health insurance otherwise it is covered. One can also attend when any case is not clear, a neighbour - she is 94 - came over as she had problems and passed out from time to time, I called them to identify if one should call the ambulance in the middle of the night, she stayed a Dr called back and said he is coming anyway, because of her age. In the end it turned out she was given a wrong medication 😢, but could safely stay at home. They udually get Dr on the line and they decide wirh ones describtion what to fo next.

Reality Check For The Ambulance Bill: Monthly Payment: 400,-€/600€, basically 16% of your income You pay every month, your whole life through, even if you never use the ambulance! In 2024, the state-health-insurances made a revenue of 240.000.000.000€, private health insurances not included. They are not working for free. NOT FREE! If this foreigner was using it, other Germans pay his bill/or his insurance at home. Thats still not free.
