I don't think you really understand what those terms mean then? 😅 It's all just strafing first of all. A-D strafing is just moving left to right, named after the keys most people use to move left and right. If I said WASD strafing it would mean moving in a tight circle and this is usually inferior but not always and it's more syllables than "a-d strafing" lol. Counter strafing has had minor variations in meaning but the most popular one is this: when you want to stop moving to shoot don't lift your finger off of the movement key instead keep it pressed but now also press the movement key that's the opposite direction of where you're moving-- this will force an immediate stand still where you can shoot without movement accuracy penalty. This is because a lot of games have momentum so you will keep moving a little bit in any direction that you choose to go if you don't cancel it out with opposite momentum. This meaning of counterstrafing is most commonly discussed in valorant and csgo. You might see now that ultimately its meaning is to "counter the momentum of your strafe". My knee-jerk reaction wanted to say I've never met a soul who uses the term counter strafing to mean anything but stopping your momentum after strafing. Since the word strafing already means strafing...😅 lol so hopefully this helps.
