Yes. Most likely. I haven't used the G7 personally but from my research, it's better. It has the larger battery of the GH5, you can upgrade to have the Vlog picture profile, and built-in unlimited recording vs the G7's 30min record limit. They both have a 16MP sensor for photos.

Great info man! Just picked one of these up super cheap (400 bucks) to pair with my gh5 ii. I was on the fence about going back to an s5 but I wanted the 240fps slo mo option and the smaller lens options

Glad I could help! Just had a client pick up a S5IIx which I did a shoot out between this and thought overall it held it's own. If you do a lot of multicamera shoots, MFT is the way to go. I also love the 240fps. I've found myself including it in a lot of my work.

I just scored one of these for $28 that had the lens creep issue. It's a SUPER EASY fix if you know how to take a lens apart and put it back together. My $28 version works perfect now. Auto focus gets very close, manual focus can get tack sharp focusing with live view. Mine's on a 6D and ROCKS!!!! My other camera is an R8 with a 24-105 f/4L. There is another alternative to this lens. Canon makes a 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 that is also very affordable.

vlog l in gh4 sucks cause is 8bit so this is not good. gh5s is 10bit so is usable

I would say that on the GH4 Vlog is perfectly fine. It'll break apart quicker in low light. But generally I find that on panasonic cameras it's better to bump the iso in camera than pull up the exposure in post (especially if you're using 8 bit)

Just opted for the GH5s over all the other overpriced hyped up cameras in 2023. Found a new one for $1200 and could not resist the value at that price. Did my 1st shoot with it over the weekend and could not be happier... Great vid/review.
