From personal experience with other subjects it’s better to utilize “autopilot” in a way that gives you an advantage so you can focus on other things My personal tip is try to improve your autopilot navigation and autopilot engagements and disengagements (by autopilot engagements/disengagements I mean the actions themselves not the decision so you want to train your subconscious to engage and disengage more quickly safely and efficiently not make your decisions for you)

Nautilus main here, I didn’t even know this was a thing but I’ve always played anchor anyway. I never have any friends to play with so i have to rely on carrying my team of randos. My special is triple splashdown which may sound stupid for an anchor to have but it gets me out of close range situations really easily. I just wish i had ACTUAL teammates to put this all together with but it is what it is 😔🤚

Yap session ahead!!! Thank you for this guide! I've never played the game, but I have wanted to ever since the first game came out. I have been hyperfixated on the series, consuming as much lore as possible, but I also have been watching guides so I can be pretty decent for a new player when I do eventually get the game. I do have some experience with team-based console shooters, I've played Paladins constantly when it was on the Switch so understanding the Splat Zones mode was easy, it's basically a "capture the objective" kind of mode, except different, as you have to fill it with your ink color, as you said. Same with Tower Control, that was easy to understand because it's like payload in other shooters. The other modes I've never seen before in other games, so I am completely new to them. This video did help me understand though! ^-^ This guide is amazing. I also watched your weapon role guide and that helped me a ton!

this video is full of bad advice for people who just want to play the game instead of focusing exclusively on competitive play. disregard everything in this video. this is not casual-minded, it's geared towards competitive players. never, EVER take advice from a competitive player, especially one who plays in tournaments. they will give you THEIR way to get better. they always assume people watching are ranked players who want to get higher ranks, not people who just want to play the game. basic tips and strategies are preferred, not this whole "analyze your mistakes" bullshit that 99% of the player base doesn't care about.

I need some insight from fellow Splatoon players!!! I have been casually playing the Splatoon series since the first game came out, and have improved significantly in my skill over time. However, I do find myself wondering if I’m filling the right role at times. I’m quite flexible in terms of which roles I fill between various modes, so here’s what I typically find myself doing in Splatoon 3… Splat Zones: Anchor (Hydra Splatling) Tower Control: Skirmisher/Slayer (Neo Splash-o-matic) Rainmaker: Utility (Forge Splatershot Pro) Clam Blitz: Utility (Ink Brush) Do any of you (especially Coach Cookie) have any suggestions on how to better execute my roles in these ways, what weapons might be better for the job in each of these modes, or which role might be better to try with such weapons? Mistakes that I regularly make are usually due to my desire to push too much on the other team, which leaves me vulnerable sometimes.
@lM4R10l3 ай бұрын
Like Cookie already said, the roles you are playing are dependant on your situation, thus changing throughout the game. Another factor that didn’t get mentioned is your own playstyle which includes, but is not limited to, tendencies, thought processes, patterns and general characteristics that are individual and unique for each player. So the roles you play also depend on said playstyle, that has to be determined beforehand in order to figure out, what roles suit you best dependent on generalised situations. Take the hydra for example, it‘s long range and high suppressing capabilities pair well with an anchor heavy role, however in some situations it might be most optimal to engage fights with your special, or even your range and the hydras natural suppression itself. Said suppressing capabilities can also be utilised to safely push forward through the zone in a way that no slayer or skirmisher could, essentially creating a clear path for the rest of your team to advance. In a different example you can also utilise the wiper as a semi effective skirmisher or a slayer, due to it’s fast movement capabilities and it’s advantage over ledges and rough terrain. All that however, like previously mentioned, depends on situations and playstyles and not just those of you, but rather your and the enemy team as a whole. It‘s a fluid dynamic and if you want to find what works best for you, you‘ll have to take those factors into account. If you want to, I can also help you figure out those factors and their optimal conclusions, as I am a retired splatoon coach myself and I wouldn‘t mind helping out. Lmk if that helped and if you wanna take up on my offer. Other than that have a great gaming expierence!

@@lM4R10l Thanks for the insight! I actually started using the Ink Brush for Clam Blitz instead, and found it to be mush more effective because of its ability to charge straight to the goal faster than any other weapon could ever allow for. It works great when I at least have a decent team to back me up, but as you know, it’s not as good for holding back the enemy as something like the Splatana Wiper or NZap is. When it come to the Hydra Splatling, I think I just need some advice on how to keep opponents from charging up on me faster than I can do anything about, because I seem to be very effective in most all other areas with it. Of course, any and all advise is welcome though. I actually used to detest using it in Splatoon 2, but I love it in Splatoon 3 because of it now having the Boyah Bomb special and seemingly better hidden stats that play to its strengths. As for the Forge Splatershot Pro, I feel pretty solid in most ways with it too, while I just need to keep getting better with knowing how to address some enemy confrontations. Getting out of a tight spot can be pretty tricky with this weapon at times. Finally, I think the Neo Spash-o-matic and Ink Brush are perhaps the weapons that I am most on the fence about, but I have definitely improved with the Neo Splash-o-matic over the past month! I have learned how to much more effectively confront enemies and approach the tower with it, and gained a better understanding of just how much territorial mobility I need to make sure I have to work with when using it. Regarding my play style, I find myself being fairly aggressive, but I’ve learned how to not blindly charge in as much as I used to before having my team ready to back me up. My style will obviously change somewhat when using the Hydra because of the type of weapon that it is, but I am still always trying to gun down enemies as much as reasonably possible without trying to get myself killed. Any suggestions on how to use these four weapons attacking, defending, and fulfilling the respective ranked battle objective? Also, do you have any good alternative weapons that I can try in their respective modes? I would like to have a secondary option to fall back on in case using my primary choice is not going well. Right now, I just use what I know I’m good enough with and apply well to whatever mode I’m in to try something different when things are going wrong, battle after battle. I don’t know if this matters to you at all, but if you want to know my skill level, here’s a bit of current perspective… I’ve beaten every single level in Octo Expansion, having received every full colored mem cake, as well as conquered inner Agent 3 to get the golden toothpick. I went back to fight Agent 3 again recently, and it’s still the hardest Splatoon fight in my life!😅 In Splatoon 3, I have beaten every Alterna level, maxed out my agent gear, and beat After Alterna. I am currently on A+ rank in Splatoon 3, but did briefly make it to S rank at the end of the summer season. I got booted back down to A rank before I had time to do much of anything in S rank though (very annoying).🤦🏻♂ Sorry, I know that was a lot, and thanks again for responding!😄 You can write as much as you want about any coaching insights and details, and I’ll be sure to read it when I get around to it. I might be pretty delayed to respond to KZbin comments at times, but I’ll see what you said at some point or another.

@Regigigas_YT3 ай бұрын
Use Story Mode to practice, that way you can practice movement and shooting moving targets. Most other games don't focus this much on movement and area control, so using Story mode to practice is impossible, but Splatoon 3 focuses on where you are and how much of your ink is on the ground, and so does the story, so practice there!
@milliemoo51353 ай бұрын
@Regigigas_YT i finished it, and i still suck at ranked. I'm in the greyspace between "too good for turf" and "too bad for anarchy" which is kinda weird.
@Regigigas_YT3 ай бұрын
@milliemoo5135 Strange. I have a lot less to say with that info in mind. Practice on ranked until you feel like you're improving. I did so on Brawl Stars (famous for hellish ranked matches, even at low ranks) until I got gud. Practice makes perfect, but don't overdo it, take a break if you're feeling tired of the game. All this advice is for every game, not specifically for Splatoon since I am new to the game (got it yesterday) but in my few hours of experience, I can tell you Practice and finding a weapon you love is what gets you far.
