Why not just use a match stick to open the socket hole and just shove the wires in the holes and a presto electricity, . Because it couldn't be any more dangerous than what you are doing By the way sticking plasters make good insulation tape , because the way you use that craft knife you should have lots of them knocking around. On a serious point young and older people please do NOT DO WHAT THIS IDIOT IS DOING. Stay safe and unless you know what you are doing leave electric and gas appliances alone because being dead lasts a very long time.

A very informative video! Though I would recommend extreme caution when using the utility knife, it's capable of cutting through flesh like a knife through butter.

For the sake of a new cheap cord, just buy new FFS, this is very dangerous,especially heatshrinking with a lighter!!!!!
@Barbarapape21 сағат бұрын
As an electrician this repair makes me wince. As said below, offset the joints and use some larger diamater heatshrink tho cover the entire joints and not electrical tape.

This is absolutely mind-blowing! The secret of the old soldering iron is such a game-changer. I can’t believe how creative and resourceful this idea is. Your video makes it so easy to follow and replicate-thank you for sharing this brilliant trick!

For how long this’ll be working?An hour ?If u wanted to save money,go to the electronic shop and buy a few burned elements-dioda and solder one instead to defective one.

Will regular aluminum foil work? Why spend $6.00 to buy a pack of cigarettes to fix a $3 bulb? One time my dad stuck a piece of foil in their chandelier to make a bulb connection and just about burnt down the house...smoke started coming out of the plug ins.
