A lot of Sonic Adventure 2 influence in a lot of recent games. City Escape was one of the Cyberspace themes in Sonic Frontiers, in Sonic Superstars, they added rail grinding to classic style gameplay and Adventure 2 was the first game to add that, and now a lot of story arcs and music from Adventure 2 are back. Also don't forget some story elements. In Frontiers Sonic brought up the time Tails broke him out of prison and in Shadow Generations the fake Emerald Tails made to destroy the canon from Adventure 2 was a big plot point in Shadow Generations. Thank you Ian Flynn you saived Sonic wrtiting.

I like to think that Shadow takes time out of his nights to go out to that field and just gaze out into the stars. Embracing the earth that Maria loved, and the one he loves too.
