I really appreciate these podcasts, I wish there was an episode that was made for friends, support people, and family of folks getting bariatric surgery. Like a “how to support someone you care about going thru bariatric surgery” or “cutting thru the myths of bariatric surgery for support people”, or something built with them in mind. I am so immersed in the research and knowledge because it is going to change my life and it is my health I am learning to improve. Wish there were more materials or resources I could share with my support people so they had more of an understanding without them having to listen to patient directed materials and knowing they likely aren’t going to dive as deep into materials as I am.

Hello Dr. Weiner, I thoroughly enjoyed this segment of your podcast and wanted to thank you for sharing such valuable information. I had bariatric surgery in March 2018 here in Toronto, undergoing a gastric sleeve procedure. Unfortunately, during the pandemic, I experienced weight regain, which was incredibly frustrating. My bariatric team recommended I begin regular meetings with the psychiatrist on staff, Dr. Richard Yanofsky, to address the weight regain and explore possible solutions. Complicating matters, I underwent hip replacement surgery, which became infected three times, leading to three additional surgeries. This resulted in permanent scar tissue damage, making it very difficult for me to walk. Additionally, I had decompression spinal surgery to alleviate severe back pain caused by sciatic nerve compression. Physically, I’ve faced many challenges, but I’m committed to continuing my journey. Dr. Yanofsky suggested I start taking Vyvanse to help manage my binge eating disorder. I’m curious if you’ve conducted any studies on this topic, as I believe it could be a significant area of interest for your audience. I’d also love the opportunity to be a guest on your show to discuss my experiences. I’ve recently started my own podcast, and although I’ve only released four episodes so far, I find that creating these podcasts keeps me motivated to stay on track and focus on healthy eating. I’d be honoured to share my story with your listeners, including how Vyvanse has helped me regain control over my binge eating disorder. So far, I’ve lost 45 of the 80 pounds I regained, and I’m determined to keep going. Had Roux eh Y in 2016 PT here. In Canada. Just switched to Wegovy 1.7 for dosage increments. Not covered. 400 dollars for 1 month. Was taking Ozempic 1mg 256 dollars but wouldn't last a month. Would have to buy 2 Ozempic Pens.

Hi Guys, I'm 2 years and 4 m9nths post RNY. I was recently was put on an elimination plan due to a serious skin issue. Did 8 weeks no dairy no gluten no soy no eggs no peanuts and min sugar. I lost from 148 to 131 I'm 5ft 4. I've had bad reactions to gluten dairy and soy. Off them going forward. Just wondered if you guys have had to put a patient on an elimination diet and if they lost weight. I feel great off gluten dairy and soy I mean blooming yeeha. Would the lovely Zoe have any goid suggestions for what to eat to replace the 3 that's healthy.. you re marvelous the work you both do is amazing

People may stop wegovy after 2 years because they no longer have access to the drug through their insurance. Actually the PBM may be creating the problem. On the other hand due to the shortages, other people may no longer have access to it. People may move or change jobs and their insurance may change and they may no longer have coverage for wegovy.
