Where did the money come from though? Why stockpile the money if he could have used it for the restaurant? I guess I will learn in later seasons but it didn't make sense to me when I watched season 1

It came from Mickey. Probably a lot of it is from his uncle’s loan. Some may have come from the business. It sounded like him and Ritchie were also selling drugs so maybe some came from that.

I love the show but, unfortunately, due to the pandemic the show was postponed so I forgot most of the plot details. This helps without rewatching the whole first season.

Excellent Recap- thank you! But I don't know if I have it in me for Season 3. The series reminds me of an out of control campfire story told by a 10-year old. Where is this thing going? How do these weird things connect? I think the writers are still trying to figure it out as they go along.

In what world would that girl with the freckles be the daughter of two people from afghanistan. She doesn't even look vaguely like someone from that region. Is there going to be another twist where Hamzat isn't her father and her mother got knocked up by Dan while he was there and they just let Hamzat believe he was the father? Dumb.
