Great video as usual, thanks for your work! About the dialog of the boss that you say makes the battle too heavy handed: this line has been added in the DX version while in the black and white original the boss doesn't say it at all (and my 10 years old me found it very hard to figure it out at he time). Many extra hints have been added when they made the DX version, and they kept it for the Switch remake 🙂

I've been playing Twilight Princess Randos. Honestly I just completely skip Ooccoo when I run through dungeons, except Temple of Time where he just kinda, jumps into your inventory.

I just had this conversation yesterday as I was playing through TOTK again. It's my headcanon that Link, after taking Zelda around Hyrule to witness the destruction settled in Lookout Landing. When he wasn't helping Zelda rebuild, he was either train/establish the new Royal Guard (which is why all the soldiers recognize him), or he was traveling to the 4 regions and helping/hanging out with the Champion descendants (mainly because I refuse to believe he just didn't see them for 8+ years). Also, I fully believe that Nintendo is basing this off of completing the main storyline. No side quests (besides building Terry Town) were needed to complete the game, so just freeing the Divine Beasts and beating Ganon is all Link did

Why no mention of best waifu Agitha and all her bugs at the end? (yeah you mentioned her once in the beginning, but still :D) Other than that one of the best vids I have seen in months, pure bliss. Thanks bro!

Thanks! I didn’t go into it a lot because it is optional side content essentially haha. It’s not relevant to either the dungeons themselves or getting to the dungeons

@@CaptBurgerson ;) One thing I personally woulda loved tho: Integrating the side stuff a tiny bit more. Yeah sure, the videos are literally called Dungeon examination, but since you're talking about the whole game as well why not spend another minute or 2 on those kinda things :D Oh yeah you mentioned capturing 1 specific bug in the beginning, so I was looking forward to every single bug in the game xD just to clarify. Also I don't exactly remember, but in one early dungeon (I think the mine or lakebed temple) there was a chest where you mentioned it wasn't possible to reach it yet, which you HATED xD but I don't think you ever got back to this specific chest. Other than that, as I already said, really amazing content. Sincerely appreciated, keep it up!

Thanks. TBH, I feel in hindsight that I spent too much already on stuff outside of the dungeons than I should have haha. When playing the games, the side stuff is great, but the scope of this video (or rather, the 9 videos that this is a compilation of) was meant to really be dungeon focused, and I somewhat missed the mark. Other things like that treasure chest in Goron Mines for example, maybe would make more sense to revisit after the fact if I had originally written the videos as one long piece, but they were originally written to be 9 separate videos that I ended up stitching together. At the end of the day, a lot of this is likely me being self-critical as usual haha, but still I'm always trying to do better. Regardless, I'm extremely grateful for you and others watching and engaging with the content.

Another great video. Never thought too much about the design of this game as I was still young when it came out and holds a special place with me. This was a mostly forgettable dungeon, though a decent boss.

I'M SO HAPPY TO HEAR ESSENTIALLY THE SAME OPINION I HAVE ABOUT THE 3DS VERSION OF GYORG, BUT I HAVE ANOTHER VERY STRONG OPINION THERE THAT I WANT TO ADD (well, I think you're sharing it, just didn't quite verbalize that bit, and I wanna add it) ...first of all, the point about Goth and Gyorg fights being the opposite in terms of initiative is brilliant, never thought of it that way! But about Gyorg specifically - he's my favorite MM boss, and high up there for Zelda bosses overall, because he is DANGEROUS. Yeah, sure, Zora Link can swim. Not around Gyorg though. In the water in his room (un-stunned) Gyorg is king, and if you're in there with him(un-stunned), your first and only priority should be getting the hell out of there. So what do they do, for the second phase of the fight? They remove the platform, and have you swimming in the water with him. You two are sharing the pool, or whatever the hell. That to me is so boneheaded, and goes so directly against the concept of the boss fight, and the main thing I love about the fight that it genuinely makes my blood boil just looking at the footage of the second half of the fight. ...probably my strongest opinion about all of Zelda, so I'm sorry if I come off too strong, but I had to add that, right as I saw that part of the video. Great video so far, BTW, love it!

I always found Odolwa a surprising boss, as it is very different to the usual monsters of TLOZ. The first time I battled him, I had no idea how to hit him, as I thought that, as usual in Zelda, the key to defeat him would be using the characteristic item of the temple but I didnt have any arrows left so I tried with Deku flower attacks. Once I defeated him and saw the giant, I assumed that ALL bosses would be humanoid (it would make LOTS of sense: The giants possessed by the masks). Thus, Goth was even a bigger surprise

I always felt that each major region embodies a stage of grief. Clock Town takes the form of denial for fairly obvious reasons, Woodfall is anger due to the Dekus' fury over their missing princess. Snowhead is bargaining, shown in the Gorons either inability or unwillingness to do nothing but plead for help. Great Bay is depression, not just in Lulu's sadness, but the overall malaise that plagues the people of the region. And Ikana is acceptance, with its residents being unwilling or unable to accept their death.

Hestu can smell seeds, but he also can "sense" your inventory capacity. Maybe he remembers link as that one Hylian that had an inventory at full capacity, TotK Link is starting his inventory all over again, so he may think is a totally different guy. It also makes sense they use something other than visuals to distinguish themselves between the korok family, since they all look the same and cover their faces with leafs.
@CaptBurgerson
@CaptBurgerson Күн бұрын
Someone else commented this but he also frequently wanders off and then forgets how to get back home to Korok forest, so there’s a good chance he just generally has memory issues or more simply is just not that smart lmao Or any combination of those factors with what you mentioned

I suspect the name "Skyview Temple" has something to do with the view of the sky in that second hub room, just a hunch. Would've liked the game to tell me something more though, if even just a line or two of lore. EDIT: Thought about the springs after this, and heard the tidbit in the video as well, clearly wrote my initial comment prematurely 😅
