I had it for a week, played twice and everything fell apart inside. I will not open or repair it, one of the worse blasters from our collection. Now it is being recycled, so that it could be a Coca Cola bottle, so it would at least make sense. Otherwise a good channel. Have you done a review of Sembylon Valkyrie? An interesting blaster. I don't mod. I'm just a plinker kind of guy. Loved ur walk through of the venom pro with the xfox kit. It really really helped. Any chance you're gonna do one with the fury-x?

If you didn't rip the plunger head apart when you were inspecting it, i think you could've glued it back together and made it work again.

That is an epic fail. Based on the damage, I assumed you hadn't kept in the spring that softens the impact of the plunger head when dryfiring. I'm rather shocked. I'm especially shocked since mine hasn't failed like that, and it hits 325 with dragon darts. I wonder if there wasn't enough lube in the plunger tube? Although, since the barrel was jammed, the air had to escape out whichever was the path of least resistance, that meant breaking through the weakest thing. The jam caused your failure. And, the jam was caused by the user using bad darts, or loading the mag lazily, or by trying to clear the jam by firing the blaster over and over again. I've fired my 325 fps xsls less than 100 times, but it's only for plinking. I bet I'd accidentally break it by going too fast in the heat of the moment.

That's actually an interesting theory about the jam causing that failure. I was thinking the same thing when I remembered that there's a dampening spring for dry firing. Actually, it was probably the combination of heavy priming spring AND the jam. I don't think the stock spring could cause enough force for the air to blow out the plunger like that.

@quasistellar yes, the spring was a factor, but not the main one. That was user error. If it doesn't jam, it doesn't break, especially if they clear the jam after the first dart doesn't come out.

@@DEVILISHLY_DELICIOUS I guess what I'm saying is that the blaster from the factory probably could have handled the user error without breaking. After mods, it was more likely to break. Even experienced users can encounter a jam in the heat of battle. Just plinking in your basement isn't the same as blaster use in nerf wars.

Serendipitously was watching your mod video today for the longshot! Was fixing an old red one, and upgrading a new blue one. Can’t say that the blue one is much stronger, but there’s a few small changes. Great video:)

I have 2 of these un modified one still working the other quit all together I suspect it is the plunger tube but never dig into. Great video.

My pusher has some stress marks. I wonder why that would wear out. I believe Saber makes a replacement metal pusher (ram), I'm not sure i want to drop the extra cash on it though.

@@backyardfoam Where are the stress marks? One thing I considered when I got my LSP was filling all those voids with hot glue. The shell on these things is pretty flexible, so combine that with a really heavy priming spring and the torque you generate on that shell deforms it as you prime, which causes things to go out of alignment. I'd suggest a lot of lube on all moving parts so when the shell deforms it doesn't rub so hard on things. Go watch some videos of folks priming their spring modded blasters in slow motion-- you might be shocked at the way these things bend.

This is amazing content, great idea for a series! Do you know what fps you were getting? I’ve just modded mine and am guessing it’s just above 200 fps. Wonder how long it will last me.

I was getting just over 200 fps DZ Rubies, AF Embers & Worker Gen 3+. The other thing that may be at play is too much dry firing. I'll have to do more testing on that to make any final conclusions. But the individuals using the blaster at the time of failure may not have known that's not a health thing for high power blasters. Thanks for the support!

Yours will last a long time if you don't ever get a jam and then try to clear it by shooting darts. His blaster broke due to user error, not from the upgraded spring. Mine hits 325 fps with dragon darts and hasn't jammed once in 75 shots. Dry firing shouldn't be a problem with that spring in the plunger tube.

@ gotcha and thanks for the reply. I thought several people have gotten to and above 300fps no problem. I did take out the ratchet mechanism so I’ll have to be sure not to load more than once. Shouldn’t be an issue, thanks again. Just getting back into the hobby as a father and loving this blaster as well as the fury X pro.

Understood, thanks for the reply. I didn’t check but I’m guessing your channel is fairly new. I feel like it should grow fairly quickly. I’ve seen many KZbinrs now doing this same type of content and your quality surpasses a couple of the more popular channels. Good luck, I’ll be following.

@isaacm6265 you can shotgun load without the ratcheting slidelock thing, which is fun but risky unless you do it slowly and deliberately. It's all about the darts feeding into the barrel properly. 200 fps is easy to achieve with some basic upgrades. 200 doesn't increase the difficulty of the prime much, which means it's still easy to rapid fire. Going above 250 makes the prime very difficult, which I guess makes the blaster less likely to break in the the one in the video did.

Hey man! amazing updates! I am waiting for my trion, a couple of mloc with a string and a velcro with d-ring also, I loved the look on yours! in a nearby future I will get a longer barrel (not silver.... lol) and a scar, for now I will stay with the print by sillybutts, with the lock for the trion connector itself, quick question, how big was the spring change in fps and specilly accuracy? I didn't find your video about it in your profile.... thank you! best regards!

I feel like what x-shot has done in the past few years is either have the right people in the research department, reached out to actual nerf hobbyists for their opinions, or their head of development is a parent playing on a field with the kids and developed products to solve certain obstacles during gameplay. "Hey dad, we're pinned down, it'd be cool if we had a spectrum with 3 mags to take that flag."
