Thanks for the video of the internals. This is actually a blaster that I don't feel the need to upgrade. I was very happy with it out of the box.

Oh yeah I'm there with you. Out of the box performance is amazing! However, I've never had a blaster hit this hard and consistent in stock configuration, and so my inner child is screaming, "Push it further!!!" Lol

The stock spring has the best prime vs FPS even out of the two provided in the upgrade kit. It might be my darts going bad, but I think it needs a longer barrel with the higher power springs. I’ve been losing accuracy during testing.

Thanks for this video brother. You're 1 of 2 Nerfers remembered that are those of us out here that actually want a peek inside them brand new blasters that we haven't had a chance to pick up yet. I prefer to have a peek inside to know whether or certain mods are possible. Not normal spring and barrel mods.

I appreciate your video! Seems like most people are upgrading the springs and putting in longer barrels. I'm pretty happy with keeping it stock honestly.

Agreed. I bought one for my buddy but if I had my own I'd keep it stock. Local club has 200 FPS cap, the model I bought hits 190-198 with BCAR.

There actually are a couple of bearing rollers inside the orange piece that the pump grip attaches to, they ride on the outside of the barrel.

Absolutely! If you want practice on opening blasters up you should hit up a thrift shop and grab some cheap springers to practice on. My other tip would be take pictures before you remove anything and each step along the way. This way you can reference them when you put the thing back together. Thanks for the support!

Do you know where the 5th spring goes? It’s the tightest spring with the end sitting horizontally

I didn't come across a 5th spring in my disassembly. Now that I go back and watch my video I wish I had gone further in that process. The springs I uncovered were the catch spring (long), 2 magazine catch springs (medium), and on very short spring onto of the plunger tube. That one I'm guessing is for slam fire or clearing jams. Hope this helps.

Hey, Great video. Thanks for showing and walking though the internals. IMHO, this doesn't really need any upgrades. DartZone already has a spring pack for this. And xfox games has a muzzle collet, in case you want to add a longer barrel without messing with the stock muzzle. They also have a bunch of spacers to help you fine-tune FPS.

Test a longer barrel with the higher power spring kit. I’ve noticed reduced accuracy using it and I’m curious if it’s just my darts going bad or if it’s out-gassing the dart.

The screw port inside the grip is for mounting AR grips, not toy/airsoft motor grips which use a different attachment method and are larger.

Switch the internals and the shell with that from a lightly modded Xshot Longshot. If you do that you'll have a much superior blaster than you started with.

Why is it all designed like this? Seems over-designed just to have the barrel lower, which I don't like personally.

That's a pretty bold assertion to make. It's designed like this to maximize the amount of air in the plunger tube and make a more efficient blaster than the Nexus Pro. They also removed an additional seal point making it easier to get a good seal.

Oh yeah, the way they got more air volume in the tube was by making it oval shaped, hence it took up more vertical space.

Thanks for the comment! The design is in good faith and should be celebrated, Dart Zone removed a possible point of failure that, at this point, IMO has been an industry standard. That being said, the lower barrel does bother me to and is a deal breaker. This type of innovation is what we want in our hobby. Other companies (including Dart Zone) will hear our feedback about the lower barrel and go back to the drawing board to make improvements. (Or at least that is how that should work) Thanks for the support!

I haven’t noticed any accuracy decrease from the stock spring and darts using the provided sights. Sure, it’s an aesthetic/ergonomic preference, but I haven’t noticed anything in terms of performance. Edit to add: I don’t like comparing nerf to real steel, but consider that the AK platform also has a similarly low barrel and that hasn’t stopped it from being ubiquitous.
