Thank you for this REAL talk. I'm new to the doll community , never planned on imitating anyone and also haven't really started on my craft yet or began sharing. However, I really never thought about this and I completely agree with you. I will be very careful about how I handle things, thank you.

Amen !, I know I have come late to this party,... But please let me say this,... I am a Barbie Lover from way back, for one it was the only thing I really had to play with as a child. Now being blue eyed and yes, a blond haired kid there was a lot of "me" :( but I wanted , my doll to have friends, so I wanted more choices , different dolls. When I had my little girl, she had dark hair, and was a bigger , but BEAUTIFUL child. I made sure she had a lot of dark hair,... She ask me why, she only had a few with blond hair,.... She called me out, I guess. But like I told her I wanted her to know Barbie was not always blond. Now she did NOT really like Barbie, as I did (I know ?? Right ??) But they started to make the curvy, the short, the tall dolls just before she stop altogether playing with them, so of course I made sure she had plenty .... And now that she is older, she is going to help me start a new Barbie Show ! So Bless You,... keep on, keeping on !

The period thing is what I was talking about in my last comment to your diorama video. I think I will have to make some effort at building a period set at some time as I seem to have really got into that idea too. I wish I was in America! We never get pop up tents or anything good in miniature. I was looking at action figure tents ....really expensive for my dolls in the fantasy period story with the horses I am making! I am off to look at Stacie dolls...I use a 21cm articulated body from AliExpress but it only comes in one colour so last time I bought the cheaper version of the Azone body for my kid dolls because they had 4 skin tones. I need too look at Snapstar because I am always up for kid dolls in my collection.

I will have to have a look at B&Q which is our version of Lowes. I really love that flooring. I repurposed a 5 tier bookshelf for mine and luckily it has wooden shelves and side walls so the only bit I really need to refloor at present is the kitchen and bathroom. My doll stories aren't all modern so I will have to rethink mine although I did think of making things in a different world that is similar to ours but has portals or something so I don't have to build all kinds of different time periods. My figures also have horses so I am trying to make some outdoor scenes too...I think I actually have found a sneaky way of getting around this by dropping to.1:12th and having a couple of similarly painted smaller horses and figures to get around action shots...I don't know if it will work yet but I think it may which would make taking photos way easier if I only have to carry half sizes characters around. I have already dresses my two 1:12th action figures the same and only need to do the hair so we will see! It was just as easy while making costumes and bows and arrows for the 1:6th figures to make similar but smaller copies at the same time.. Now I just need two 1:12th horses to do the running photos (so the horses aren't always just standing around lol!) You have some very realistic repaints there. I have Barbie, BTS and FR dolls as well as Obitsu and other action figures but I don't use them in the same scenes as the head sizes are more realistic in the Obitsu and Action figures being smaller but, as you know, you don't realise unless they're together with the dolls. I repaint everything but I wish I could afford to buy repainted heads.

Subscribed because you are talking my language. The shears thingies look like garden secateurs which, funny enough I was thinking about needing for the popsicle sticks etc. Yeah I think I need them in my crafting life...I did learn the lesson and have fabric only scissors now (and a bunch of various rubbish scissors that need sharpening). Lots of great tips in this...Thank you I will look you up on Instagram and then you can see my less than professional efforts lol! I just ordered a Styrofoam cutter (we call it polystyrene so sorry if I spelled it wrong!).
