One of my favorite American Railroads ever, and it's almost on 1st place between Santa Fe and Norfolk and Western, but I love this one, I went the to Flatonia TX on the SP Signal box, and I can see the remains of the original Southern Pacific line right next to the line that is now in operation.

Fun fact: The "Bell's Fruit Gum" symbol is the origin of the "BAR" symbols that came on slot machines much, much later down the line. A bar of gum, basically.

Its always fun seeing those 0-6-0s running around the yard like that, very nice little engines.

Piękny film. Widać bardzo rzadkie parowozy, które miały pionowe cylindry i napęd rozprowadzony do wóżków.

Once watched an old holywood style movie shot in an old lumber camp in Northern Canada that was fascinating. It was shot in an actual lumber camp and had a holywood type plot (no money to pay men). It was truly great but have not been able to find it again as I don't know the title, can anybody help with this? My friend was and raised in Wawona and is fascinated by old logging culture. No man bunns, ear rings or pony tails in those camps!)

What city is this in?

It starts in San Francisco and includes cities on the peninsula down to San Jose, then over to Santa Cruz.

It's all in San Francisco, where the current Caltrain 4th and King Station is at. This scene is unrecognizable today.

That would require people to actually fix things instead of replacing a computer board. I totally agree that these mechanical machines are really fun to play.

Don't you just want to go back to those days and smell the wood being milled, the smoke and steam from the equipment and the beautiful surroundings they worked in?? Hell, I'd go back there in a flash! My great Grandfather was in the forests near Fort Bragg using axes and saws to produce railroad ties @ 5 cents a piece.....pitchfork salmon for dinner and elk and venison for supper.

3ft Gauge. The most Common Narrow Gauge in the USA. I have an insane Idea that would most likely Never happen. Imagine if all 3ft Gauge Railroads United together to become a mega Railroad Company (And yes, include The White Pass & Yukon rout).

I really enjoy seeing footage of the Western Pacific rr 251 class 2-8-8-2 locomotives, they are an impressive class of articulated steam power and are among my favorite types of 2-8-8-2 class steam engines.

Southern Pacific rr had very attractive looking steam power with their GS class 4-8-4 "Northerns" , Mt class "Mountains" and Pacific type locomotives that operated in passenger service. These three steam engine classes are enjoyable to observe in operation hauling passenger trains in both the "daylight" and the "war baby" (black/ silver) paint schemes.

Beautiful - Dad commuted from Sunnyvale to Menlo Park on the old SP Commuter in the 60s, and we regularly saw and heard the Libby's Cannery forming up freights. MUCH later, I returned to the area, after the Navy, and used to commute from Santa Clara to San Carlos on the CalTrain... I also took a monthly trip from San Jose to Stockton on ACE.

I always enjoy seeing former Westside Heisler 3, now Roaring Camp Number #2 in action. She’s such a neat and powerful little engine despite her cantankerous personality.

Why Southern Pacific didn't design Northerns streamliner to be Cab Forwards too? SP uses fuel oil as primary fuel for their steam locomotives.

0:29 Black Daylight. does it has the same peaky nose?
@T128Productions8 ай бұрын
That wasn’t the Daylight. The locomotive pulling that train was an MT class 4-8-2 Mountain type locomotive. The Daylights were all GS class 4-8-4 Northern types.
