does your icing harden to much? I want to make them for my daughters birthday but heard alot of people dont eat royal icing cookies because they harden to much so im trying to find a way to make it harden but softly.

I followed the recipe to a T but my icing tastes very strongly of powdered sugar. Did I do something wrong?

It's a very sweet icing on it's own, however paired with a sugar cookie that's not so sweet, it's really delicious. Also make sure you've flavored it with vanilla or some exact to give it a bit of flavor. Lemon juice replacing some of the water can also cut some of the sweetness out!

That's awesome!!! Yeah once the icing is all dry and set, it has a different texture and feel like it doesn't taste as sweet especially when on the cookie! Glad they loved it! We can sometimes be our own worst critics!!

@LittleCookieCo I also found that it depends on the type of powdered sugar you use. You want to use cane sugar powdered sugar. It has a much mellower taste compared to the sugar beat powdered sugar which leaves a plasticy sweet after taste that is not appealing.

Yeah, that's also true!! Depends where you are and what options you have. Here we mainly only have 1 major one that sells but it works well for me, but I know some people have issues with certain brands more than others

Using airbrush colors is brillant! I wanted to try PYO cookies but didn’t want to use my gel colors. I love that I can use my airbrush colors and not feel like I'm using a ton of color but still get vibrant colors on a cookie.
