I'll never forget sitting in the theater in 1990 when this movie came on the screen, and that excellent theme music by Jerry Goldsmith played over the artistic opening credits. What a great movie! Arnold carried the film along at a great action hero pace! Terrific supporting cast too!

Star Trek Nemesis & Insurrection both sounded a lot like this. Almost identical in some parts. Also hearing a lot of "True Lies" in this which I assume he scored also.

Goldsmith was very clearly inspired by Basil Pouledouris's "Conan The Barbarian" opening theme for the main title theme for this film and adding his own twist with the distinctive sound of his string section.

A truly amazing film of young man with a big heart and even bigger dream. We follow him through his fight through will and determination to be accepted into a highly regarded football institution. This soundtrack allows you feel what he feels on every emotional level and plays I believe a vital role in the film as it takes us with Rudy on his journey. From the edge of your seat to out right cheers you're there with Rudy on the field at every step every tackle and Jerry Goldsmith puts you there with him. You will be emotionally drained in the end and you'll love it. One of the Greatest soundtracks ever made !

His work is unsurpassed. His music spoke for the films heart.. The bombastic weight of this one.... The hauntedness of Peter Proud... The plotting of The Satan Bug....The tainted glory in First Blood..The discovery of conspiracy in Coma...and of course the whispering of evil in The Omen,...He was as diverse as film composer could be.
