Didn't work for me. The dorfs were complaining nonstop as I hit the ward with the cart, and eventually they decided to murder me... which made for a hellish corpse run too.

In my bases what I always do is place three layers of tall trees as close to each other as possible. It's quick and I don't need to be moving the workbench all the time.

Hi Beebs - another question. Did you remove the solo Valhiem series you did just *before* this one, which started here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJTUqn16hrh4l5o The earlier one that I'm thinking about, the Base was down just up from a Coast, your house for a long time was built in Draugr-style which was a cool idea, and you eventually created the massive underground basement that was half storage (a lot!) and half your Workshop. I usually thought of it as the Chilling Series as you never felt like rushing through the Bosses, and just went about doing the Grind well and giving thought to your Building in your Camp. I have always found that series of streams covered the early game very well, helping me learn a lot. I often used to re-watch parts (or all!) of it for pointers and refreshers. I was sad when I couldn't find it last night, but maybe I'm overlooking it. 😞

ok I'm relieved to know that the "flatten" thing is a pain for everyone. Came to similar conclusions - a mix of flatten, raise, pickaxe - to obtain a good flatten.

But when you screw up, how do you restore terrain to original condition?

i did the raise terrain over a large area that was around a whole village and it was not good for fps .

Im probably in the minority here, but I hope they add a hunger system. It would fit perfectly in the setting and would make the need for farmers. Would give it alot of realism and depth, in my opinion.

The spawn atoll of mini islands criss crossed by all the small streams always looked like a lot of fun to explore. Thought it would be fun for a run on my upcoming Holiday break form work

So in short you suggest cheating. Breaking enemy ai is the same as using god mode.

you can also bury a standing torch or brazier if you are trying to spawn protect a long road since a standing torch does not have a large foot print so they can be hidden inside your road network.
