How did you change the starting pop to 55?
@X_caron28 күн бұрын
hey, i look at my game, i have 650 Warehouse guys for a 11.5k pop, so roughly 5.6%. My tactic is great for when you start conquering. have a big central Warehousemainly for pop needs (food, cloths, etc.). have 4 puller warehouses where the .main one take it stuff from. the puller warehouses pull from the manufacturing district warehouses. manufacturing district warehouses are the warehouses that get raw goods and stock finished ones. now all you good are stocked at the central warehouse. from there, have residential districts warehouses pull from the main warehouse a small QTY of the items your pop need. let me know what you think

So i know you can upgrade the pump to get more range out of it but it there a way to have a pump that is inland to boost the range even further? Otherwise you're limited to being within 100 tiles of your water source
@OshanManАй бұрын
Upgrading pumps does not increase range, it increases worker efficiency. The way to increase range is to connect to water pumps together :)

@PerfectDeath4Ай бұрын
Generally I channel water from those wet spots along the river and fill in to create a sort of grid of pumpless irrigation along the river. If I want to irrigate a non river area it would be due to a very high fertility bonus and/or for pastures. Services that need water also.

so isn't 12 spacing the best?
@OshanManАй бұрын
8 spacing is definitely bad, but you could argue either way for the 12 or 16 tile gap. I would probably do 12 tile for the first farm then switch to 16 when I had the workforce to cover the increased area and employment requirements.

I've been trying to figure on my own how to improve warehouse logistics and I think it's best to leave it to oddjobers since the AI does a terrible job at removing them when they are no longer needed. It has a drawback. You can't control what oddjobers do. The way you are doing it is using workshop labor to store it nearby. But the problem in the end is the same, someone need to deliver it to the warehouse. How do you know the efficiency is better? These oddjobers may appear to be unemployed but they might be working on warehouses all the time.
@OshanManАй бұрын
I know the efficiency improved because things are actually getting to where they need to be. Take for example the paper. For the longest time, my libraries were not properly supplied and I dipped into negative knowledge until I implemented the transports :)

Big warehouses are what's killing you. You need small ones, with very small amounts of crates. It can even be beneficial to not fully upgrade them. The idea is to be very evenly spread out while trying to maintain full stockpiles. I cant confirm it but my assumption is it is simpler on processing. The small stockpiles ensure a small number of workers can handle restocking very quickly. If it empties there's a hard limit on the backlog of work that one warehouse has queued up. The requester then pulls from the next closest and spreads the work load out.
@OshanManАй бұрын
Yeah, the logistics wasn't well planned out for this city. I used to do a mix of small and medium warehouses scattered around, which likely does perform better than massive warehouses, but I would still recommend using large ones for long-term storage as a vault/treasury of some sorts :)
@deighvАй бұрын
@@OshanMan Yep- Massive warehouses as vaults become a neccessity in large cities for storing rations, gear, sithilion, gems, meat, fish- whatever your chosen population needs for their fulfillment. Beyond that, smaller ones scattered about for distribution are ideal. In large cities they do need upgrades because you want to be able to have multiple deliveries going to them at a time when they get low. In a smaller city, you might not want upgrades for exactly the opposite reason; you don't want multiple deliveries being sent to a half empty warehouse that's doing fine on supplies. It's a balance and finding what works best in your city
@deighvАй бұрын
Sometime, watch what workers in warehouses do in their downtime- they just reorder stacks to make room for transports to have room in another stack to be able to move goods in, because they can't deliver unless there's room for 50+ (or 75+ with some training) goods. I love it.

Thanks for keeping it short! Great advice. But i have a question if it's ok... Do you import coal from a rich coal province? If there is none, would you import wood and keep charcoalers, or would you buy it in bulk?
@OshanManАй бұрын
Questions are okay mate, just can't always guarantee a reply. I do tax coal from province with a lot of it and if this does not exist, I import it from other nations instead of charcoaling wood because charcoaling wood is pretty inefficient. The trick is to buy half your storage of coal manually and then import to 60% so that you have some stock to whip into in the mean time. Hope that helps :)
