Yes, it's true, in the 1960s in SoCal 73% of cars were convertibles, the rest were woodies or big honkin Ford or Mercury four door hard tops. The nearby country of Beverley Hills was only Continentals, Imperials, Eldorados or Rolls. 🚗

What a bunch of freaks! No neck tattoos no piercings no beached whales. WHATS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?

They didnt have this emphasis on the actresses on the show wearing bathing suits and bikinis in the very first season. Oh, they'd occasionally show one or two of the actresses wearing something skimpy like a bathing suit. But it wasn't until later did they come to realize "Hey, we got these gorgeous actresses with beautiful bodies, let's get to showing them off", and the poolside scenes with their female guests in bikinis became obligatory.

When Gidget went away and came back as a nun; she totally hated convertibles and go figure!
